After listening to them for a while they sound pretty great being that they're only $5 but you still get a feeling that it doesn't sound right without the lows being present. No, there are no good Chinese ereaders. Maybe there will be some good ones soon. Probably not. The roundeye ones are already perfectly good and are sold at little to no margin.

Go for either Redmi Note 3 Pro, Le Eco Cool 1 or Le Eco Le Pro 3 Elite.

Redmi Note 3 Pro ($150) has a good 4000mAh battery and an SD650 which would be better for 3D gaymes than an SD625. 12hrs SoC.

Le Eco Cool 1 ($130) has a 4060mAh battery and an SD652 which is better than the SD650 for gaymes but people say it gets hotter in some parts compared to the RN3P. Also its roms aren't as battery efficient but good enough. 10 hrs SoC.

Le Pro 3 Elite ($170) has a 4060mAh and an SD820. 10 hours SoC.

RN3P will get Nougat and Cool 1 has Nougat, will probably get Oreo in December according to they're marketing. Le Pro 3 software is in a coma, has got 1 update but still in Marshmallow.

Alright it's time to ask the burning question: does it suck?

The reviews on this type of chink-o-lin vary from "a decent novice violin" to "arrived broken" and "strings broken when tuning", so it's going to be interesting.

On the plus side It ships from the US so it should be quick, and it comes with the rosin and case, and I got a $1 set of spare strings because why not?

You need an audio interface or at the very least a phantom power supply. It requires +48v but anons are reporting it working with as low as +5v. Ymmv tho.
Depending on your application it may work with an onboard sound but the quality will be mediocre at best. If you need it for quality recordings invest in an interface, otherwise just get whatever lav mic you find for a dollar.

I have both the iFive Mini and the Mi Pad 3. If all you want to do is read then the iFive Mini is hard to beat, if all you do if read then you can get about 7.5hrs of battery and it charges fully in 90 minutes. If you want to do some actual gaming then the Mi Pad 3 is worth the upgrades. The problem with the iFive is the hard to connect Bluetooth and the 3.5mm jack is utter shit, (makes a ton of noise when connected and idle) the speakers are also utter shit, they don't get loud at all and the sound it makes is pretty low quality. If you choose the iFive then I reccomend Bluetooth headphones. Or just step up to the Mi Pad 3, it really is superior in almost every way, it only lacks an SD card port.
