Yeah. I mostly use it for audio restoration because that's my hobby. It's a great tool.
Waves plugins are also great

Reaper for recording, Reason and Ableton for keyboard noises, Amplitube for guitar effects
old man here, i grew up with a tascam portastudio audio cassette 4 track there are just wayyyyyyy too many buttons and effects on computers that's why i never had a hit record
effects
>Fabfilter
>Soundtoys (the delay is particularly nice)
>Valhalla Reverbs

If you mean shit-tier overpriced plugins written in the 1990s that are being sold with ridiculous DRM and update models, I guess you're correct.
I use Mixcraft 6 for composing/editing/adding effects, Kontakt for the best VST plug-ins, and Fabfilter plug-ins with a mix of other freeware plug-ins for mastering/balancing and effects
Honestly though, some of the high quality VSTs are already mixed and balanced just fine with little mastering required, it's great.
Synths
u-he stuff...diva, zebra and ace in particular

Favorite for me has to be mdaEpiano and serum would come in second plus all the stock Ableton stuff.
Anyone know any good Rhodes emulators other than mda? 64 bit preferably

Those guys make the most beautiful stuff.
The TyrellN6 is especially nice for being a free VST that actually is awesome compared to the sea of fucking piss Synthedit VSTs
I will probably get a couple angry (You)s but I still think Oatmeal is an awesome vst

looks like fun but since it's just a dumb controller you can still have so many knobs by arranging some cheap controllers.
sure, doesn't feel and look like this but still tons of fun to tweak
>>62208809
Diva is incredible. I'd use it all the time if it weren't for CPU constraints.
yall niggers make your own using synthmaker?
I know apple products and shit are usually ripped on pretty hard on here, but if you aren't use apple logic pro x then why even bother?
Ableton/M4L
Mostly native stuff with other vsts from TAL, Valhalla, Fabfilter, and some other simple ones
My laptop isn't that great so I stick to simple non intensive stuff, native plugins can take care a lot of the basic stuff as well

That's pretty good, but why didn't you remove the background hiss? What program btw?
>>62210627
I don't remove the background hiss because it doesn't bug me and I believe it to be detrimental to the overall sound. You lose some detail inevitably, even if it's just room ambience.
And I used iZotope.

This guy is a legit 90's OG audio software gangster.
Anyone else on here write vst's? I'm in the process of making a ring modulator.
