If we are having trouble programming an AI to have feelings, wouldn't it be easier to program an already existing AI like DeepMind to self-program what could be considered feelings?

Feelings are just a function that gives the AI a grade for their conduct. By letting it strive for higher points and forbidding to alter the function, we gave the AI something like feelings

youre part right, you cant just "p[rogram" feelings because they develop with age. like jealousy isnt something were born with for example, so you need to set up a program to teach it to itself
