My main dev machine used to be a Chromebook (swanky).
The play store was never available on it so I had to use a root access in order to install standard packages but after this step, everything was working very well and was smooth.

Any limitations that annoyed you? Some of the "better" chromebook models are still cheap and kind of tempting.
