I find it harder to get an invite than to pass an interview or get recruited plus the truly invite only trackers got easier alternatives.

Why are V0s more popular than V2s? At some point VBR MP3s became more popular than CBR 320s. Why did that shift occur? What about V2, V4, etc.? Why doesn't anyone fuck with those?

I don't care about FLAC; have always just downloaded 320s.

That's sort of what I do.

Most of the shit I want on RED only has FLACs or V0s, so I convert them to 320s on my seedbox, download them, and then upload the transcodes to RED. It just seems like no one gives a fuck about 320s anymore and is either downloading FLACs or V0s.

This is obvious because of how optimal they are. 320 and v0 are easily obtainable, but v0 is at least the best lossy mp3 optimized encode. FLAC is what you want in order to actually archive music.

I mean, what the fuck is the point of using a private tracker if you don't want contribute with archiving stuff?

Also, downloading the FLAC gets you the most buffer just based on the size of the file. I only download the FLAC unless it is a popular album where I can get the buffer from the v0 as well.
