YouTube has been dying a slow death. Their "content model" has been making videos shit. Having people need to make lengthy 10 minute videos on whatever simple topic when the content producer isn't that interesting or engaging ruined everything. Making 5 minute videos was much easier for the average person and much better with the 10 minute video getting posted for more dense subjects.

Professional web designer here. These are my thoughts from a desktop experience:

>color scheme does not contrast well, makes it hard to differentiate menus and different parts of the page
>horizontal line divides are still there, but are incredibly hard to see (even when looking for them)... basically worthless now and makes content flow like an unorganized mess
>spacing between elements is too large, eyes are more slow to pair words with content, breaks the readability
>font is... special, there's just something off about it: I'm not an expert in fonts so that's all I can say

It feels like they were trying to tie the mobile experience to the desktop one and it just failed completely. Like Metro, except everything is a shade of white or very light gray and I'm basically blind now.
