Never tried myself, but had bosses and professors wanting to figuratively beat the shit out of anyone who did as much as bringing it up, so I guess it doesn't actually work in practice.

It's basically when you and someone else team up on a project, and sit next to each other at one computer taking turns driving. It's really something you do in the first stages of a startup, but not at normal jobs.
