I'm using Hackintosh on my desktop with full encryption (Filevault 2). Vanilla install method. You just have to boot from "Recovery HD" partition once you enable FV 2.

Because Mac OS is broken by design and meant to be used only on Apple's overpriced hardware. The only way to "easily" get a Hackintosh is to spend too much on shitty hardware, which makes it a pointless endeavor; otherwise it's absolute torture to set up.
On that same laptop I could pop in some USB storage with an Ubuntu image and have a fully functioning machine in an hour.
