Poorfag here. Is it a good idea to play games on PC via microSD (class 10)? I don't mean those +3gb games, but more about <1gb PC games and emulators.
Huh? How is that cheaper than a used hhd?

So long as it's mostly read operations it should work okay-ish? But you'll probably have worse load times than with a regular HDD for certain titles.

Depends on what you plan to play. Emulating any sprite based vidya should be perfectly fine. NES, SNES, GB, GBC, GBA, maybe some DS games shouldn't be taxing on a Micro SD card. Probably most PC games from before 2005 should be fine I guess. Why are you resorting to an SD card?

Buy a used HDD or SSD you will be glad in the long run
Anything less than a few hundred MB will probably be fine. It's not a great idea though as SD cards have shitty low powered controllers and terrible wear leveling. Don't expect the card to last long (more than a year) under a heavy R/W load. Also it'll be slow as fuck.
You're better off with a standard sized usb 3 flash drive. They tend to have more consistent performance.

In the sense that I already own said microSD card, i guess.

Oh, I can live with that

Basically, my laptop has an 120gb SSD and has only ~5gb left (I use pretty much everything I installed on it). Since I have an spare 32gb microsd card, i was wondering if using it for that would be doable
