Intel ME has an undocumented disable mode.
>In response to requests from customers with specialized requirements we sometimes explore the modification or disabling of certain features.
>In this case, the modifications were made at the request of equipment manufacturers in support of their customer’s evaluation of the US government’s “High Assurance Platform” program.

This is great news!
If the ME is invisible how do you communicate to it
bump this is actually important

Still needs more research to find the other areas the flag flips, but it's extremely promising.
Interesting to see it's Minix-based instead of ThreadX now! Thanks to the people who computed the custom Huffman table, too.
Since they were asked but have no plans to open-source it at this time, AMD's PSP is next. Two Ryzens already died on the lab bench during decap (the indium solder they used to connect it to the heatspreader turns out to be a bit of a bitch to get off cleanly without leaving residue), but it's being worked on. From the die shots we already have, looks like an ARM, which would make sense - they are a licensee.

Would my framerates be better with it disabled?
Will this enable coreboot to be compatible with newer intel cpus?

I do t know shit about soldering or any complicated shit.
Is it easy to do or do I have to be some sort of Einstein faggot to do it?

Like that windows telemetry pasta
can't wait for the /cyberpunk/ future where we salvage bins full of old pentiums to build compute clusters that aren't backdoored
