Gonna be using it for web browsing, music and some gaming (maybe set the bar at being able to run Fate/Grand Order but I can live without it).

As far as battery life both the Xperia and Samsung will be seeing average. The only phones these days with insane battery life are old ones with sub 1080p screens and old chipsets.

I have a Note5, it's 2 years old as of a week ago and it's still pretty damn smooth, the only thing that really bogs it down is opening 4 or 5 apps at once and switching back and forth between them often. Sometimes an app will need to reload, or it'll stutter for a second or two when switching.

But outside minor stuff like that it's still fast as hell 2 years down the line

As for updates slowing down the phone, no. When I had my note 3, it ran like a top all the way up until they stopped supporting it at 4.4.2. To this day, the phone still works flawlessly.

To be fair, there is no reason this has to be the case, USB type-C supports analog signal passthrough in the specification, all the manufacturer would have to do is keep the headphone amp and DAC and allow the passthrough.

Then you just get a passive adapter cable. No sound quality loss whatsoever.

What should I do to make the experience as tolerable as possible? The performance and battery feel great but you can tell it's a chinkphone.

Which kind of build materials (plastic, glass, metal, etc) are the most reliable on heat dissipation?

Thing is, I live in a city where 90°F are the norm during the majority of the day, and the phones I've had (Zuk Z2 Pro, Moto Z Play, both made of Glass and Metal) make my hands burn within the touch, the Zuk was the hottest at the back, next to the camera and the Z Play across the metal frame.

So, I just want a phone that I can use without a case and won't burn my hand. I've ready several opinions on the matter and some people said full metal phones are the coolest, while glass phones are the hottest. But there are people that said exactly that but viceversa, and I don't know what to believe

So it seems that despite the fact that they're using Mediatek processors, Oukitel has managed to provide updates to the k6000 Pro for at least 1 year since it came out, including a Nougat update, and has received several ROMs as well.

I thought /g/ said Mediatek was bad and wouldn't get any updates or ROMs?

You can remap, but only soft remapping. Basically you install and app that detects whenever the bixby app is opened and force closes it and opens another app (of your choosing) instead. So bixby will pop open for a brief moment before being shutdown and your app of choice opens instead.

I got a iPhone 5 and it still works okay as a phone, for basic web browsing, and the battery lasts about 2-3 days of light-medium use. But it's clearly outdated as it can't play webms natively, the phone lags with Chrome browser, and it doesn't have the latest version of iOS.
