The extension overhaul is nowhere near as dramatic as /g/(read: Chrome or Pale Moon shills) make it out to be. The Mozilla implementation of WebExtension is more powerful than the standard one of Chrome, so things like Tree Style Tabs can still continue to exist. I think the only major addon that can't be updated or replaced is DTA and maybe CTR, the rest is extremely niche addons and most likely abandonware.
