So, thes disgustingly awful bluetooth headphones wouldn't charge today, so I opened them up and saw pic related.
Tried to find a battery replacement, but they're selling them for 8$ on Ali!!!

Help a brother out... is there a place where I can order these for a cheaper price, or should I just bin the whole thing?

These irons may be a little too cheap. Thanks to plenty of teardowns and some models with transparent casings we know they don't have a thermocouple/thermistor in the tip, which means they're not actually temperature controlled. There's no direct relation between that dial on the side and actual tip temperature.

Look at Yihua 908D or 936 on the cheap end for actual temperature control. TS100 and a laptop charger and/or vehicle adapter if you need something good that's very portable.

>Also should I get a desoldering pump or just use solder wick?

Both. They're cheap, and using the pump to get rid of bulk solder while using the wick for cleanup will save you chewing up all of your wick in minutes.

Ordered a cable for my 215, but the cable that came has wrong mmcx connector I think. Left is the proper cable, right is the one I got. It doesn't stay in place. What can I do? Will I have to go through painful process of sending it back to get my money back, or can I request a refund without sending it back? I really don't have time to go to post and prepare and put it in a box to send somewhere. Will they even return me the shipping fee?

You can use any lipo pack that fits and has an integrated charge circuit like that one appears to. Remember to leave a little bit of space around it on all sides because they expand a little from warming during use/charging, and if they press up against other parts so hard they deform, you get the Note 7.

also phones that come with official global roms support OTA updates
>>
>>62121138
Yes, all Xiaomi phones do OTA updates since forever and Xiaomi supports their ROMs for a really long while.

Well, minus the ones that have been re-flashed to a 3rd party botnet ROM by resellers, but nobody really can help that and IMMEDIATELY re-flashing the ROM you want or at least verifying it's stock upon on receiving the phone is standard /csg/ practice.

Nah m8, it's pretty simple. Having a fuse matched to the appliance means you can put a lower-rated fuse on an appliance with a thin cable and not worry about resistive heating setting your shit on fire. I've seen cables melt before the main breaker trips, can't happen if you have that extra fuse.

I'm a fucking rf hardware engineer I deal a lot with this shit on my job. Not specific to Bluetooth. You would be hard pressed to find anything on the market earlier than Bluetooth 4.0. Chinks literally have to go more out of their way to produce something that isn't supporting aptx. The designs are literally free and the fabs in Shenzhen pump the latest shit out as soon as possible.

I can't find any Bluetooth modules earlier than Bluetooth 4.0. Chinese fabs are gonna waste their time making older designs when the new and improved shit is here and it's free. You're acting like aptx is this ultra rare super expensive technology. It's literally a codec.

Wouldn't it be good to be get an amp so you don't have to be tied to low impedance headphones? Having a good amp doesn't have to be that expensive anymore. >>62129307
it's sodimm for a mac, 1600 mhz, there's screenshot on the feedback with real capacity and frequency
>>

>silicone
from the photo seems to be brass, which would make sense since it has to conduct electrons, right? or is the connection being made by the top part and some spring contact?
>>
>>62129460
can you see the number/model lasered on the ram ics? check the datasheet and see if those are the higher density ones (lower number of ics per ram card, usually only one side is populated)
>>
>>62129483
Going from The photo, I would say the copper center contact does the transmitting, and the o ring is just coloured to match for aesthetic appeal. May be wrong due to potato quality picture though
>>
>>62129504
>coloured to match for aesthetic appeal
that could well be the case. and if its not, a quick fix would be a piece of just the right thickness of copper wire (calipers might be needed) twisted into an o-ring shape around that shaft section. it should hold, at least until a proper part is found

The chink replied. Should I trust xir?

Wait until further development, since in any case you can dispute later if necessary.
>>
What's a good brand of chink tablets or a good tablet in general that's about $200-250 range?
>>
>>62129567
Possibly not, if it's non conductive it could be an insulator between the inner and outer cable stopping a short circuit

Chuwi / Onda / Teclast / Cube had some decent cheap chink tablets.

Might as well check out gearbest, geekbuying and the other tablet carrying places first.

Can I plug a regular HDD with this shit?

https://aliexpress.com/store/product/ORICO-2-5-Inch-Hard-Disk-Driver-SSD-Adapter-Cable-Converter-Super-Speed-USB-3-0/1938249_32726067796.html

I guess not but there is no fucking way to use regular drives on that shitty SBCs?

No one store stuff on laptop drives
>>
Of course not. You need external power for one thing.
Just buyer the more expensive 3.5 orico cases.
>>
>>62130031
3.5 inch drives need 12V and quite a bit of power so you need to look at an adapter that allows you to plug in an extra power supply
>>
>>62130031
If by regular HDD you mean a SATA one, then yes.

But 3.5" ones usually won't have enough power from just an USB port. Other adapters like this have a plug for an additional PSU but I think this model doesn't.

If I may suggest, get an Orico dock again, maybe a flat one (pic related), they're pretty nice.

> that shitty SBCs
I don't understand what you mean.

The thing is that even the cheapest one is 5-6 times more expensive

At that price point I can jsut go for some used j1900 or something
>>
>>62130124
Well then go ahead and buy a j1900 then, it's obviously a better deal.
>>
>>62130124
> The thing is that even the cheapest one is 5-6 times more expensive
Yea, I guess. Various models of this cost $15-25 IIRC, some like the very new USB3 Type-C even more.

> At that price point I can jsut go for some used j1900 or something
Uh, if that's really an option (are computers with J1900 THAT cheap where you live?), why not. But running an additional computer will probably consume some extra power vs just a dock. If it runs often or 24/7, I figure power costs might relatively quickly break even.

is it a good idea to buy a monitor from chinks?
>>
>>62130288
No.
>>
>>62130288
Not really, certainly not for Europeans or US citizens (also not for most others).

Yes, Xiaomi's huge TVs or whatever would make for decent monitors, but the shipping costs fuck the deal.
>>
>>62130304
>>62130326
oh..
>>
Is the Bluedio N2 really good?
Anything better, and not too expensive, for running?
>>
>>62130334
Yea, they only have cheap shipping for small items.

Once they get even just as big as a Xiaomeme robot vacuum, they start to be closer to $25 per kg extra and also some then again some srs money for bigger volumes like for displays. In the case of the Xiaomeme vacuum it's worth it since it's about as good as a ~$1k roomba, but generally this doesn't work out for the usual devices in a household.

And no, Chinks generally don't do surface freight for private customers. Probably also because it's not that easy to organize in many countries outside of developed Europe and the USA.
>>
any good real deals on ali?
>>
>>62130615
Yup
>>
>>62130615
Yea, a great many items are cheap vs. what you could buy locally.
>>
How are chink cables? I need some xlr and dual mono 1/4" to single stereo 1/8" cables and they are overpriced as fuck in local audio stores.
>>
Thoughts on sellers declaring a lower value on the package? Any experience?
>>
best chink dac currently on ali's sale?
looking for dirty cheap usb dac to replace my broken pc port
>>
>>62130735
Most do it automatically but it never hurts to drop a request to do so when ordering. Some won't do for the really expensive stuff though.
>>
>>62130750
Any PCM2704 but be sure they have capacitors so they don't make that annoying/damaging pop sound when unplugging headphones
>>

I ordered this with option 4 (only wanted the card and straps), still waiting though so it could be hot garbage for all I know: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Action-Camera-Full-HD-DVR-Sport-DV-SJ4000-upgrade-version-30m-Wifi-receiver-1080P-Helmet-Waterproof/32231073816.html

I tried the same thing over ebay

I don't know how well they do with durability yet. The Sony one is quite amazing there and survived a lot of abuse.

It means chinks have printed shipping label, but they haven't shipped your package yet.
Or with non chink carries (like PostNL) it means that they haven't received package yet from China.

Well, apparently I managed to find something that you can't find really cheap on chinksites. I guess this kind of adapters are made of gold or something, the lowest price I found was on Amazon.

it depends on your country
I'm in the UK and I ordered a tablet form China and I didn't even get hit with customs
The only time I've been hit with customs is with ordering stuff from the US from private sellers who put on the real value for insurance
The real bastard thing with customs charges is that the actual VAT is like £1.50 but then it's a £8 HMRC processing fee then a £5 parcelforce processing fee
>>
>>62133610
it can happen in pretty much all countries, they can ask for receipt or your item slips through depending on luck, the item, the shipping company etc
