wanna be frens?
No.
what's a googlle?
>>62097449
microsoft too. you know they ACTUALLY got charged with being a monopoly and broken up- oops they never broke them up though.
2 years after the trial, the USA said fuck it and let Microshit walk. We are in the monopoly era.
hate google so much

The U.S is letting the tech companies do anything they want these days.
If law makers from the 40s saw how software companies are exploiting the feeble minded with mobile games where they expect users to pay thousands to complete their games, they would make laws banning the creation of such apps just like they banned gambling

hiring moot was the last straw for me, but my more tech literate friends were anti-google a handful of years before that.
>>62098350
how bad does it have to get?
That's my question
>>62097449
Effectively in practice, it's pretty close. There are alternatives for practically everything that Google does, but good luck getting normalfags to use them - everyone flocks to Google because it's convenient to use and it's plugged into a lot of phones these days. I can't count the amount of times I've told some of my friends about all the invasions of privacy that Google pulls, and they just shrug it off and go, "But it's so convenient to use! Plus, I'm not doing anything bad :))" Only my tech friends stay away from this shitheap.

It's kind of debatable with online services.
A monopoly is traditionally something that stamps out competition, but there are quite a few alternatives to all Google's services.
On the other hand, the general public doesn't really care about alternatives, they just use whatever (seemingly) works.
You can't really start condemning any company that is popular amongst the sheeple.
Manipulating search results and other questionable activities is what they should be getting shit for.

Android is pretty much a monopoly and so is their search engine.
Yes there are alternatives, sometimes they are just as good but in other times they are not.
I hope the EU throws them even more fines, fuck Jewgle.

>there are quite a few alternatives to all Google's services
There are alternatives to most, not all. Android doesn't fucking have an alternative anymore. Not unless you wanna spend 600 for a fucking phone anyway.

>is the one company that controls >80% of the global search marketshare a monopoly
of course it fucking is
kys
>>62099703
A monopoly would have 100% marketshare though.

Only in the minds of those, who do not bother looking for alternatives.
There are alternatives to their search engine, their e-mail, their maps, etc.
Now, if you ask whether those alternatives are better, then, in many cases, they are not.
Google just has a better overall product. If you do not value your privacy at all.
