It supposedly reduces power fluctuation on the motherboard which increases audio quality somehow
some tests show it does fuck all with any decent PSU, but there is a measurable, not noticeable change, in voltage stability with it installed

so if you have a chinkshit PSU powering your FX 9590 and R9 295x2 build, this may in fact work as a gigantic fuse that keeps it all from catching fire

not really
audiophile snake oil, i kinda want one just for the lols though, its PCI and a 478 system with a load of useless PCI cards sounds hilariously fun

A soundcard, a external DAC and amp does a better job tho.

its not a sound card, its has no audio outputs

it literally just sucks in power and drains it out a bit smoother

>It supposedly reduces power fluctuation on the motherboard which increases audio quality somehow

It's just a bunch of filter caps on the power lines. This CAN in fact reduce noise on the lines, but that makes fuck all difference in computers since power supply ratings are really strict nowadays. And if you use chink shit fake power supplies then this would be not enough to make a real difference either, since audio noise would come from the DAC filters on the board or on your soundcard (which these cards would not affect).

tl:dr; it's bullshit like you said.

And if you want actual improved audio quality then you need to use digital out hooked up to a dedicated external DAC/amp.
>>
also, it took me half a minute to figure out, but apparently the plugs on the top are PCIEx1 connectors and the bottoms ones are regular PCI. So this card can be installed in both systems. That's actually pretty neat, shame it is wasted on something so useless.

Well, that 's because it doesn't use any data lanes so it doesn't need to worry about switching between the two.

>>62092820
It's >>62092866

It's a whole bunch of capacitors and a few resistors. The idea is that capacitors will smooth out any voltage spikes and maintain a clean 3.3/5/12V in the system. It is claimed to result in better sound performance but it is only a little more worthwhile than pic related.
>>
>>62097627
Okay bro, easy solution for you. Fucking, take your system audio right. Put it through a low pass filter with a cutoff of about 100Hz. You can use any topology but it should be at least 2-pole preferably 4-pole Butterworth of Chebyshev. I recommend active Sallen-key or MFB filters. Either way this should only allow bass in the passband. Rectify that with an active rectifier and use it to drive a NPN BJT. You may need to amplify it somewhat. Play around with the biasing for your transistor and see what works. Use the tranny to drive a string of LEDs. You might need to use some sort of Darlington pair where you have a small signal transistor like a 2N2222 or 2N3904 driving a power transistor which lights a whole string of LEDs. That's the simplist BPM detector. Building something that doesn't rely on regular low frequency pulses is significantly more complex and best left to the realm of digital signal processing. Ask someone else about that. I'm an analog guy.
>>
>>62097714
I mean, in theory it should shunt out any high frequency noise though it's probably not much more effective than any bypass caps your mobo/soundcard/DAC already has.

I am just stupid software engineer who goes to work and enjoy buying shining blinking stuff.

All i am willing to do is use my debit card and plug it in and stare at lights :-D

Building my own stuff wouldnt look aesthetics and took too much time i could spent doing something unproductive.

Wait I forgot, connect line level audio source to R3. It's not shown in the schematic. You can just use a typical TRS connector and run either the right or left channel in or use a summing amplifier to mix the two channels together.

The last time somebody made me to read this schema stuff was at uni few years back. I would probably be able to even build such thing, but then again i strongly believe into capitalism and if there is a market for blinking stuff, it will be in shop.

Have a nice day!
