Who here OpenDNS master race?
>blocks malware and malicious domains

You forgot
>sells your data
Use dnscrypt
>blocks porn (a.k.a. time wasting sites, including 4chinz)
>just works
Clearly it doesn't
>nxdomain hijack
yeah no
>>62087416
Fuck off you shill
>>62087416
living in the northwest its slower, when i lived in florida they had a closer server in miami than google's nearest in atlanta so it made sense, now it doesnt, its slower no sense in using it
>>62087416
>he doesnt run his own DNS servers which query the root servers directly
>he doesnt have 8 DNS servers
>>62087448
You can use DNScrypt and OpenDNS as resolver.
Good to test if your DNScrypt setup was successful. I.e. if you only see one ip on the result on dnsleaktest.com it means you succeed.
And I don't know if there's any other trustworthy dnscrypt resolver out there, most of em are random euro sites.
>>62087773
What are the benefits of this
>>62087837
redundancy, isolation and preventing DNS leaks.
ad1/2 are my own internal DNS servers
dns1/2 are in a isolated PVLAN with internet access, query the root servers directly, and are used as forwarders by ad1/2
dns3/4 are in a promiscous PVLAN with a VPN connection, receive zone transfers from ad1/2, and query the root servers directly
dns5/6 are like 3/4 but with Tor rather than a VPN

>master race?
And it's free, like Google, amirite?
Fucking moron.
>>62087908
Eh I don't know OpenDNS made DNScrypt which is open source and free for everyone.
How am I the product there?
>>62087908
you do realize the company that owns opendns makes money selling hardware to connect to the internet (and then use their dns)?
so bravo smrtmn
>>62087960
>makes money selling hardware to connect to the internet
Yes, and their division, OpenDNS, makes money by selling, excuse me... renting access to your data. kek. Why else would CISCO spend over $600 Million on OpenDNS?!
>>62087960
Cisco bought OpenDNS, they were selling your data long before Cisco came along
>>62088000
you do realize companies regularly lose money in certain divisions but keep them due to inherent non monetary value they produce?
oh and by the way, they sell shit to enterprise so they aren't "completely free"
but keep talking out of your ass, i'm sure it's done you well in life :)
KEK
okay I see this DNS thread everyday, by now it's safe to assume that these threads are posted by shills.
Why advertise something that 95% of people won't bother changing?
>>62088027
>value
what other value does OpenDNS produce?
ps: you just keep digging your hole. hope you're realizing how stupid you sound by now.
RETARDS use OpenDNS because
>It has Open in it's name, just like my FOSS software! weeeeeeee!
>>62087773
>>62087879
How does one begin to do this
show me your ways
>>62087416
>porn is time wasting
Implying I don't juice in less than 30s
>>62088452
Well step 1 would be to get a switch which supports PVLANs and that would be exclusively enterprise class equipment.
>>62087773
>he uses windows for his dns server
>>62087879
>PVLAN
wat is dis
Higher latency using these DNS servers so I don't bother.
Better to filter that shit out locally or at the router.

Like a VLAN but more configurable. And like a VLAN within a VLAN.
