I ordered a Ruizu X02 for my grandma because the battery in her clip is dying.
It's fucking shit. I hope she doesn't mind how bad it sounds. I think I'll see if I can find a suitable battery for her clip (I need one for my own anyway).
Wouldn't recommend it, except maybe for podcasts.

Anon! You can replace clip+ batteries!

Open it up and search for the battery code on the device!

I've personally done this... and I actually only got an extra 2 hours out of it.

Sanrenmu, Ganzo, Enlan / Bee, ...

There are more good brands I think but these are the ones I can remember of the top of my head.

I got both from Sanrenmu & Ganzo a folding knife and both are as sharp and as well finished as you would expect from a western brand costing ~5x as much.

I'd check out AliExpress, Gearbest and FastTech if you want to buy something.

For instance I just ordered a similar model as another anon bought in a previous thread. His was the version with the carbon scales, I bought a variation in Army Green (but the black one's the cheapest at the moment):

I have only the old 12 so can't say about the 13 or the new models but anyway.

Build quality is really good. Firm, clean design and light.
Linux runs totally fine out of the box.
Never had heating problems while on linux (psnsor never rechead 50C and is normally around 37C or about 97F for you weirdos) though I never did anything to push it.
Battery lasts about 7 hours with me on linux (low brightness).
Trackpad and keyboard are high quality too, with the only issue I can think of being the lack of brightness setting for the keyboard backlight.
Power button location may be a concern but the resistance of the button is different (you have to press harder) so pressing it by accident rarely causes any problem (unless you normally type hard).
Screen quality is also good enough for me, with the only issue being the glass cover that is kinda reflexive (not a problem if you like seeing your own ugly face every once in a while).

Main issue with the 12 is the lack of ports (only 2 usbs, one C and 1 A), but it doesn't bother me.
If this is a problem for you, the 13 has an extra port, though it's not totally silent. Some people were complaining about fan noise in their units, but this doesn't seem to be a global issue (but heating seems to be).

It's a nice purchase. May not be the most powerful machine you can get for the price, but it's probably the most powerful you can get for the weight of the product.

So you need to see what you're looking for and what are your priorities.

Ah yeah I completely forgot about Y-START, I knew I was forgetting something
Lately I haven't really been keeping up with knives though maybe that's why
I bought the Ganzo because I liked the design and it was so cheap for a quality product (€7.16 with the discount + points)

----

O wait I just discovered that I also bought a Y-START JIN01 at the end of last year.
Maybe because your review?
I completely forgot about it because I put it in my lower drawer
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1901/10019211/4008802
Can you link your review?
>>
>>62089130
>>62090001

I love my JIN02 but keep in mind it's heavy. I haven't carried it all summer due to it's hefty weight. Also some users have apparently cut themselves while the knife is closed due to how close the blade tip is to the edge of the handle. I haven't but I haven't been carrying it. But yeah if you guys are able to get it at $13 that's an amazing value.

Before you knock the Ganzos, keep that in mind that the Ganzo F753M1 is still a steal right now at $9 USD or w/e they're charging. It's basically in the realm of the old $6 Sanrenmu 710 territory. It's just ever so slightly smaller than the typical Ganzo size and seems perfect for me. I also like the fact that Ganzo have learned how to mill their liners out and have brought down the weight.

The other cheapo Chinese knives I'm interested in right now are the new (old) LAND series. The 910 looks great, and the 9103/4 are even on bearings. Only issue is they're a bit overpriced now when you stack them against the JIN02 and F753M1.

Don't worry too much about my opinions though. I haven't bought a knife in like 9 months. I just watch knife reviews on so I can fall asleep to cardboard cutting sounds, batoning, and the silky smooth gentle sounds of steel through paper.
>>
>>62089130
>>62090001
Same anon again.
(I couldn't find a good pic of the orange version of the Ganzo which FastTech doesn't have for some reason)

Comparing the: "Y-START JIN01" and the "Ganzo G7392-OR":
- The Ganzo seems to be a bit sharper out of the box cutting paper then the Y-START but once the cut's going the Y-START goes through the paper easier
- The Ganzo has a stonewashed 440C blade and the Y-START has a D2 steel blade
- The Ganzo's jimping on the blade is more rounded off but sharper on the scales and liner, Y-START's the other way around but has no jimping on the scales
- Both have good build quality, fit & finish, no blade play and the blade's perfectly centered
- Both have G10 scales which look great, especially Y-START's wood look on mine looks great.
- The Ganzo has texturized scales so it's a little more grippy then Y-START's scales which have some kind of pattern in them but there quite smooth overall.
- Due to the ball bearings in the Y-START it opens noticeably smoother then the Ganzo which is still quite good imo, no complaints on that front
- Both lock with a satisfying click and both feel solid/substantial when you open and close them
- The Y-START's liners are skeletonized and the Ganzo's aren't.
- The Y-START (168.35gr) is a bit longer blade/scales wise and is a bit heavier then the Ganzo (136.74gr) => Weighted with my chink scale.
- Y-START's liner lock is less stiff and easier to use then Ganzo's axis lock which was quite stiff in the beginning but has loosened up now.

I always liked knives but with western prices it's just not an attainable hobby for me.
For me personally I'm extremely happy with both, especially at the prices you pay for them they're both a steal imo.

Only the base on my JIN01 is somewhat close to the edge but it's still 4.5mm and you'd have to press quite hard and then try to rub the jimping to cut youself, for me it doesn't look it'll happen.

I think I probably decided against some of the Elan/Bee/Land knives in the past because some (all?) of them come with annoying security screws to keep the blade in the knife.

For me I just buy knives to collect them and because I've always liked knives somehow.
The only knife I really use(d) a lot is my but never took outside is my Spyderco Delica 4 with the VG10 blade which I bought lots of years ago before chink knives got to my attention.
In the past I carried a small Swiss Army knife though.

I'm waiting for my ZS5 from Gearbest in the mail. It just passed customs on the 20th in Australia. I can't wait to try them. I've gotten my Xiaomi Piston 3, Piston Hybrid and Hybrid Pro HD all authentic from Gearbest and I'm satisfied. The Piston Hybrid is my favorite.

You know, it's interesting you mention those 3, because they're practically the earphones I've been cycling through in the search for new ones.
I wasn't too big on the Piston 3's, the Piston Hybrid Pro's are OK, but I think my favourite, like yours, are the Piston Hybrid's. I might actually just order another pair, since mine failed and I was looking for a replacement. I thought the Pro's would be better but there's something off about them. They're better with foam tips though, maybe even better than the standard Hybrid's with them but I'm not sure since my Hybrid's shit the bed. I think the Piston 2's are still my favourite IEM's, really sexy in Gold

Is Gearbest safe then? I've literally never bought from there, would I be fine with that link and this Bluetooth cable for the ZS5's?

Sort of mixed response there. Is Gearbest generally considered safe? Find it weird you'd get something that wasn't delivered whatsoever. Do you order from there frequently? I'm just wary since not only will the ZS5's take a month to arrive, but I've never dealt with them either. From what I gather they aren't fakes though
>>62092798

I'm pretty open to suggestions, but I'm not sure what else there really is at this price range. I'm not much of an audiophile, just want something that sounds good.
My Piston Hybrid Pro HD did sound a bit empty to me at first, maybe it is due to how bassy the Hybrid Gen 1's are in comparison.

I got my ZS5s from ((goybest)) and it took 4 weeks to get here. I paid $2 for better shipping but to nobodies surprise when that $2 went down the fucking drain. For reference I own Monk+, Zircons, Fonge S500 and T01, and ZS3. The ZS5 sounds way better than all of them, which is great because they're also they're the most expensive IEMs I own. Pic related is somewhat old.

I think KZ took a gamble and stuffed a bunch of drivers in an iem in hopes that people would just buy it for novelty, and it sounds surprisingly good Say what you want about non-functioning drivers in an overhyped iem by an overhyped company. I really enjoy my ZS5s and I use them almost everyday and I'm glad I bought into the dumb hype. There are good pictures of the ZS5s opened up on head-fi that show the wires attached to the different drivers, whether or not they make a difference in the sound is something I'm not willing to personally find out.

Also you can try getting a Piston 2 replacement from 1More, I'm not sure if they sound the same but 1More is a reputable brand.

They're safe. But from my experience it's getting a refund from Gearbest could be hard. For example they might give you Gearbest wallet points instead of a refund. I've ordered lots of stuff from them eg. Raspberry pi 2 and 3, GBA flash cart, liitokala lii, endoscope, mifree mip4 smartwatch, my redmi note 3 pro and those Xiaomi earphones.

There's no such thing as wallet points, GearBest Wallet = store credit = money.
They're trying to make the Wallet feature a thing, but they're not enforcing it. If you'll accept getting the refund in the Wallet they'll give you something extra (like GB points). If you don't want that, you'll just get the refund back to your PayPal/credit card.

I don't expect anyone to remember but a while ago I was complaining that gearbest had sent me some faggots smart watch instead of my note 4x, along with his address. I ended up getting a partial refund and purchasing it again (not my choice, but people wanted expedited shipping and were ok with losing ~$30 for the sake of that). Anyway, they proceed to take over a week to process and ship the phone, and now that it has arrived it has defects. The bottom right of the screen is completely unresponsive, and the areas that are responsive require "force". Not heavy force, but more than a normal phone. You can tell something is fucked up because the capacitive buttons on the bottom look fuck-y and don't line up completely. The person who the phone was bought for is okay with keeping it, but I'm not. Should I send it back for a replacement and go through this ticket and shipping bullshit again, or just take a partial refund?

Also, I've been asked to purchase another note 4x for another family member. I'm sure as fuck never purchasing from gearbest again, so does anyone have experience w/ geekbuying or banggood? Additionally, if network/LTE bands are not a factor, should I get the note 4x or the note 4 4g? I don't see any difference between them besides the bands but I know it may not be that simple.

Thanks in advance to anyone who reads my blog.

Probably none unless the Chinese secretly started supporting HDMI alt over USB-C or DVI over USB-C, which I personally don't think I ever saw on any laptop.

=> You are not outputting video over USB, not that easily anyhow. I guess you can do some stuff on Linux that might qualify, but it's a hack.

Probably output your video with media streaming or remote desktop technology over your network connection, that's a far more regular thing to do.

There are shitty USB XLR converter cables for like $10 or so, but as far as I can tell they are crap.

Problem is obviously that XLR<->USB requires a DAC type of chip and maybe an amplifier with decent quality, and from reviews, they're not putting either in a cheap cable.

And the Alctron or some other such USB converter thing (which in this case I saw but never used) costs about as much as a small Behringer USB mix board.

You know you live in third world when chink post is better than the postal service in your country.
>>
are there any micro SD card to SD card readers that can fit two or 3 mSD card?
I'm assuming no
>>
Is there a way to hide unavailable offers on aliexpress? I'm looking for smallest+cheapest SD card but despite setting my search filter accordingly, most of the offers don't have the sizes I have set in the filter available anymore.
>>
>>62093077
No problems with gearbest here, bought my Mi5, my xiaomi robot vacuum, kz zs5s and plenty of other smaller stuff through them. I live in Germany and their Germany express shipping option always makes it through customs which is really nice.
>>
>>62097380
Nah. Which is why Chink sellers currently exploit this for higher visibility and higher listing in sort by price and so on.

Bugger Ali support to fix it.

What do I do now? It seemed like such a good phone for the money but no 3.5mm jack is just fucking retarded.

Chinks have no shame.
I paid extra for "Ali Express Standard Shipping", but chink send it "China Post Registered Air Mail" anyway.

A fucking wired headphones have a battery in them. HOW?
In the fucking button, which works completely analogously.

I'm giving him one star review for lying me.

The difference is in tracking info.
He also lied by saying "i have send the parcel", but he only registered tracking number digitally. Two days later, four hours after i send the message asking him out about it, he actually send it. What a coincidence.

Got burned like that once already. Chink didn't send anything for three weeks, by using "electronic info" loophole to escape one week limit on sending.

>>
>>62093077
Gearbest is fine, I've ordered all kinds of stuff from them.
I'd personally use the registered shipping using the country's postal option.
It's usually only 30-40c cents for small meme stuff, and it's sometimes even cheaper then unregistered shipping.
These days it goes really fast and on average registered only takes ~8d or so for it to arrive vs 3-4 weeks unregistered.

Looking for an underwater headphones+player combo, any suggestions?
>>
>>62092162
I bought a cheap chink one from a local grocery store a few years ago.
My experience with it is that it worked fine for what it was.
It had 3 crappy leds vs one good one, so while it produces quite a bit of light it isn't as good as a normal battery powered flashlight.
I didn't use it for like a year or so and then the battery had died and it wouldn't charge anymore.

That means it's being shipped through the Netherlands which I'm 99% sure is a way to get around their customers having to pay for customs fees

It will work eventually. I live in the UK and when I ordered stuff from Gearbest they send stuff with PostNL but from China.
It didn't work for a few days, but once it was scanned in at Amsterdam I was able to track it to my house.
I ordered a £60 tablet, two knives, and some other stuff. Think it was £80/90 worth of stuff but I bought most of it with Good Boy Points.
Can't remember what they put on the label, but I didn't get a customs fees letter which is nice.
