Explain your favorite programming language in 14 words.
There is no point to using anything but Java. 90% of the industry agrees.
A safe and ontologically sophisticated language that utterly crushes benchmarks while lacerating /g/'s rectum
Having a favorite programming language is retarded considering they all have different strong points.

It's the underrated autistic brother of C that its actually good but no one uses.

We must secure the existence of our pointers and a future for low-level code.
We must secure our sotware with strong typing and a future for old programs.

Omg is that a Pascal programmer? Quickly, let's make a wish.
>>62071750
I wish for C to go back to the depths of hell where it belongs.
t. Pascal programmer.
>>62071761
I'm also Pascal programmer in fact I am >>62071673
I was only pointing how rare Pascal programmers are.
We must secure the existence of our poople and a future for Java developers.

There is no reason to use anything else, it does everything, easy and fast

yes

nah

This.
Whats the point on using a language that is as difficult to read as assembly?
The point of programming languages is to make humans communicate with machines more easily. That is why Java is the most used programming language. And I'm not defending Java, in fact I personally think is shittier than C++.
Rust is the way to go (even if C++ 11 solved a lot of problems).
And guys stop falling for the /g/ meme that rust is bad. Yes it is plenty of SJW, but we are talking about programming languages, not politics.
I hope C/C++/C# dies. All the C "variants" are just frustrated faggots who want maximum performance without coding in assembly. I don't even need to explain why C# is bad.
>>62072017
>I don't even need to explain why C# is bad
Can you please? Without much experience with it, I seem to be liking it more than Java. Of course, you could say it's just picking the lesser evil at that point.
>>62072017
Why is C# bad? If you don't care about performance too much, it's easily the most readable and pleasant language for desktop apps. I wouldn't code a game in it, or a website or embedded software, but I'm sure as hell gonna use it when I want a no hassle Windows GUI app with great database and networking support.
Also, C++ is bad because it's being developed by people who are disconnected from the industry that uses it, it's not bad because you're too dumb to manage your memory or skilled enough to roll your own data structures (since STL is garbage).
>>62072060
Okay, so you get out of Java because it's slow and you go into C# wich is another interpreted virtual language, but it now uses Microsoft propietary .NET bullshit thereby deleting the unique advantage of using an virtual machine language wich is compatibility.
>>62072017
>likes Java
>shits on C#
You either accept both or shit on both.
>>62072187
Like I explained in
>>62072208
And like I said, I'm not dumb for not understanding C(++) (wich I understand and use at my work) . If you are so brainlet to not being able to code in assembly it's not my problem. Just don't stop in the middle of low level programming and high level programming.
If you want readable code sacrificing performance it's OK. Use Ruby or some shit. But if you want "muh performance" don't code in C, be a man and code in assembly Ffs.

>Likes Java
Who said that? I said that I personally prefer C++ over Java.
>>62072287
Just because you can use assembly, doesn't mean you should. C/++ is the perfect mix of control and time saving (you can even write inline assembly code).
And just because you're writing something in assembly, doesn't mean that it will be necessarily faster than the C/++ equivalent. Most of the time, the C/++ compiler can produce better optimized assembly than an unskilled programmer.
I like C because it got me a decent paying job and good benefits.

RUST.

>>62071431
Not as fast as C and its compiler is obese, will never replace C in the embedded world, or even OS kernels and networking. Otherwise it's pretty good I guess.
We must secure the existence of our pointer reference to allocated memory and a future for segmentation faults.
