So, my college implemented this system where you have to take tests online with a special browser that locks your computer, records through your webcam and mic and you have to show your surroundings every test, your id, dress properly...in your room. I'm pretty upset and I actually feel like my privacy is being violated, since they won't allow to just take these tests in a classroom. How fucked up is this? What do you guys think. And I have to do it on MY personal computer, that's sweet.
>>62058192
>he bought a mic and a webcam
You idiot
>>62058192
Fake and gay
>>62058192
Why don't you name the browser they are making you use and what school you go to. Dumb larper suck my cock
>>62058192
don't do it
I've used programs that locked your browser before so that you can't use google, but the rest of your shit is made up.
Also, I just use my laptop or phone instead, lmao. Why do they even try?
>>62058227
I'm pretty sure it's something they built, haven't even installed it but I've got a picture of the instructions (in spanish tho)
Ye ye buddy, translate it yourself

>>62058322
dont fucking install it its literal malware
Nvm seems like they didn't build it. Name is "Respondus Lockdown Browser" and "Respondus Monitor". Wtf is this shit.

Take your tests in a computer lab on campus?
>Get second monitor
>get long cable for second monitor
>Mirror screens and put second monitor in another room
>Launch browser with mirrored screens
>Have friend look at questions on second monitor and feed answers using a 5$ chink handheld radio to a $5 chink headset you're wearing
>Ace tests
>>62058541
That would be amazing but they don't have webcam, ofc I assume not everyone in the course has a webcam so I'm feeling more problems to come with this whole situation
>>62058561
Connect a USB webcam to them? Buy a $5 chinkshit one.
>>62058424

>>62058764
This, just use a VM that report back real pc stadistics, if it report the pc as "Virtualbox-pc or VMWare-pc, bios, motherboard" it would be pretty obvious you circunvented their methods.

If this is a EECS course, I'd bang my head against the wall and you should too
1. Create a VM running windows, run the malware browser inside of that.
2. Pre-record yourself in an environment fake taking the test.
3. Use a userspace driver to fake a webcam, playing back the pre-recorded footage.
4. Jack off while using google to cheat on your test,
>>62058900

If you use QEMu/KVM you should be able to hide most of the identifying features of virtualization. Really though I would just use a physical machine and switch the monitor inputs between your test machine and your notes machine.

>>62071895
It depends how thorough they've been. You can pretty much always tell you're in a virtual machine, but it depends how much effort you're going to put in. They may just be checking the virtualization flag and trusting the hypervisor to tell the truth.
I don't believe there's any reason why you must always be able to tell though, it's just that in practice any hypervisor I've ever met doesn't say, let you spoof the name of your RAM modules.
>>62058192
Yes, I had something like this for my online class. The program my school used was Examity, basically everything OP laid out is correct. So why d'you let them use your webcame? Since you said you had to "twirl it around" I assume it was external, so you could have just disconnected it and claimed you don't have one.
If it was internal (in a laptop) just remove the hardware manually, and since it's your machine when they ask you why you would do something like that you don't have to justify yourself (provided they didn't put out an announcement of rule saying something along the lines of "you must not alter your pc hardware/webcam").
>>62072819
Exactly, and avoid showing any obvious signs that it's running in a VM.

Could be wrong, but it seems you can change system info to avoid advertising the fact that you're in vbox with "VBoxManage setextradata"
I've used this ransomware before (I'm calling it ransomware because that's essentially what it is). Some versions don't detect VMs while others do. Your school may be using a branded version that doesn't detect VMs, but you will need to fuck around with GPU passthrough and such.
Honestly the simplest solution is installing it on someone else's computer. I hate this software with a passion, but at least I know what my next project it.
Install Win7 on a usb drive, remove hdd and boot into the usb.
Then SWAT yourself during the test.
This should be a common practice. They should hire the most crusty people they can find to do the monitoring. Because college students are cucks. But they should be lazy enough so smarty pants can bypass the system.

Even on these tests its not hard to just place your cellphone/small tablet on your laptop screen, low light settings, and cheat that way. I did that for all 4 of my tests for that one class. Your eyes are still looking at the computer screen and they cant see your hands. they can "hear" you but just turn off vibration.
