If I do a free space wipe of 1 pass every night for 7 days, does that equal one wipe of 7 passes?

On an HDD you just need to write it with random bytes a couple of times, on an SSD however these tools do not necessarily work and if you have sensitive information you need to write across the entire disk or physically destroy it.
