Is the new build of Firefox nightly finally faster than Chromium? I like the features in FFox and lack of Jewgle botnet but I can't justify using it when Chromium is so much faster/smoother.

what features does 57+ have that chrome doesn't?
>>62048085
the cool screenshot thing and the ability to use NoScript, there's probably more.

noscript was abandoned and is insecure as fuck you shouldn't be using it even on a shitty browser like firefox
Using chromium's built in blocker is much more effective

A native reader mode.

For me 57 starts off really fast but it just gets slower and slower until it runs like dogshit and the entire browser has a major stutter every 15 seconds. I think it's due to the new CSS engine since I didn't have this before that. Also noticing a lot of CPU usage on videos.

>>62048074
Yes, it's extremely fast.
>>62048403
Works fine on my PC. I only shut down the browser for updates, so that's around 20h of usage.
>>62048103
You can just use uBlock Origin and / or uMatrix to kill scripts.

Make sure quantum css is enabled.

Marginal gains at best.

Weird, I've got around the same uptime.

If it's that you can turn it off
layout.css.servo.enabled
>lot of CPU usage on videos
Same. With media.wmf.vp9.enabled set to false it seems to get better. I mostly use mpv to watch online videos though. But yeah, nightly 57 is really fast.
