Will this run 2000-2014 games in medium settings?
>>
>>62044075
it will run 2000-2007 games just fine

what's that, like $70? I'm sure you can find a used good one like a 750Ti for that kind of money and run 2000-2014 games the way you want it.
>>
>>62044075
The entire card is a fucking heatsink lmao
>Will this run 2000-2014 games in medium settings?
>2000-2014
Thats a very broad timespan
it should run most games fine on medium, around 2014 games you will probably run into some issues
>>
>>62044075
It's not comfortably safe. You're on the margin if we compare the 660M i had in my g75v. (clearly gpu bottlenecked).
Since it's clear you want a passively cooled card I'm not sure there's many better options. Maybe if you find a cheap active cooling card and buy a https://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-Accelero-S3-Graphics-Compatible/dp/B00RVAEI1E
You could get something comfortable.

Since you mention the range there I say you're ok with the card you suggest. It's notably stronger than my card and I'm quite OK with it still for most games. Not every game is playable though. Back in 2014 it would be.
So go for it. It's a very high price/performance ratio judging from www.videocardbenchmark.net

Just remember that you likely shouldn't just use passive cooling. Use one very silent case fan to get some air moving. If you're not constrained on principle.
>>
>>62044075

No.

Get a GTX 1050 or RX460

If you can afford it go up a step to the 470 if you're not cucked by miners, 1060 if you are.
>>

Rx 550 is a better choice at the price of the gt1030
1030 performs about as well as a 750, not a 750ti, so don't expect much, but it should handle most stuff on medium settings fine, depends on the processor as well

You're always going to be cucked by technology.

As soon as you purchase something, even if it's brand new, give it a few months (or sometimes even days) and there's something better.
>>
>>62048950
Yes but this time we have desktop gpus in laptops without any bottlenecks versus literal smalle improvements for every M release
>>
>>62048756
>senpai
Fuck off pedo
>>
>>62044075
Even the gtx 750ti is better than that shit. gt 1030 is unexpectedly total trash.
>>
>>62048768
Mobile GPUs used to be fucking cancer.
That the desktop and mobile versions didn't match in performance is such a huge scam.
And then comes all the thermal throttling because manufactures jew out on the heatsink sizes. (Even on higher end models.)
>>
>>62044075
It's worse than a 750 ti. Only good for silent media centre builds.
>>
>>62046267
This isn't even my final form.
>>
i considered one for my threadripper build but ultimately went for a single 1060. nearly went for a 1050ti even. 1030 just isnt strong enough
>>
>>62044075
It runs Shadow of Mordor 1080p medium
It runs observer maxed out

>>
I do not understand why people spend money in bottom end shit cards...

I upgraded to dual nVidia 680 for $120, and I can run all my games at ultra settings 60fps without major drops.

If I want a next upgrade, I'll look into 980ti when they drop to around $100 each on the used market.
>>
>>62044075
No, that shit is built for shitty e-sports "games"
>>
>hurr durr people buying this are stupid
Some people have space constraints, and this card is the only cheap one slot low profile and short card
And when i say one slot i mean true one slot, because some take more than on inside
The value is massive if you take that into account
It is pretty evident, specwise that the 1050 is better value, but it does not fit in some setups
>>
>>62049467
Pretty sure the fan version is just as small. Either way, where you going to space?
>>
>>62049525
I am talking about the whole 1030 series
I bought the asus one, because the heatsink is not that humongous

I was using a 650 recently (680 died after 5 years) and they're about the same in power. You can make lots of shit work with abhorrent settings and resolutions but it really wasn't a good experience at all, made me appreciate my old 680 even more.

Anyway, the bare minimum should be a 1050ti (Again about the same power as my old 680) as you can still play most shit on decent settings and resolutions. If you have a tiny bit more money to spend and live in europe, I can recommend going for a ~200€ GTX 970 and OC'ing the shit out of it. Best bang for buck card right now duo to all the inflation.

>>
>>62049618
If you're thinking of a 1050ti just get yourself a 470 or something
1050 is a good price/performance but 1050ti is way too close in price and power to not be getting a 470
>>

>>
>>62044075
>Will this run 2000-2014
2000-2010, sure.
1030 won't, just like the GT710, GT610, GT510 run the Steam Big Picture mode at 60fps, the plain UI only.
That's how shit it is.

It's good for displaying data only.
>>
>>62051738
It is single slot and low profile, but you have to take care of the heatsink size inside
1050s are mandatory 2 slot unless you mod the second slot output
>>
>>62053264
My ass
>>
>>62046259
That's not really 'passive' though, it's a server/workstation card and will require at least 150cfm of laminar airflow through it.
>>
>>62044131
Considering the fact that its completely passive? Not terrible, really.
>>
>>62044075

this guy is talking from his ass, or is running 3 antivirus at the same time
I use Steam Big Picture since 2012 without any issues
>>
>>62053433
tomb raider runs at 60fps
arkham knight about 40, so i play in 720p
another good example is SFIV: it averages 120fps at 1080p. it basically maxes the game
it is not anything amazing, but for 70$, and using no fan at all, i find it a really good deal

Ah I see new-CRT-fags are finally popping out of the wordwork to express their half-educated opinions.

CRTs do have a "native" resolution - the aperture grill is specifically designed for the monitor's specced standard rez, and only exact multiples (or divisions) fit that aperture perfectly.

The cheapest 560 is only 20 bucks more and we're looking at probably double the performance. Really under 100 bucks you're better of just getting a used card like a R9 280/285/380 or 770/960, which will shit all over both of these cards combined.
