Yes, but it's so much more than that. Intel management engine, the AMD equivalent, backdoors in software, internet of things spying on you, facial scanning, biometric data collection including fingerprints and DNA, or just look at everything the EFF is fighting. Everything from the increase in TSA phone and laptop unlockings at air ports, to net neutrality, eroding privacy, 4th amendment violations, freedom of speech violations, lobbying against a ban on encryption, etc etc etc ad nauseam.

Yes, on Internet the perfect privacy doesn't exist. Even if you use only free softwares because your privacy can be broken with a zero day.
