What's worth my time from RED's invite forums apart from Bib, Emp, GGn, MAM (kinda worth it) and Jpop/AB (worth it for weeaboos)?

Before I start, I don't mean to spark up any argument.

So I saw this post a couple weeks ago. It was a blog post about PTP and its size.

Lots of the comments on this post were about how this flags up trackers. Do people really think that industries need a reddit post to tell them about certain trackers? A quick Google search shows all the information they would need, such as tracker reviews which show vast numbers of screenshots.

NB: Like the rest of you, I also want trackers to live as long as possible. I made a post about it!

Obviously people know about private trackers. LE and anti-piracy groups can join them easily.

It's not that trackers are some well kept secret but they are just too small to matter. Why go after a site that has thousands of snatches per torrent when streaming sites and public trackers have >100x that. Getting bigger means more attention but the nobody knows how much that actually matters. Probably very very little.

In terms of actual stats, Apollo used to have about twice as many users. Now it has less. But Redacted always had more torrents, because of how the two sites originated and recruited. Apollo started with open recruitment, poor OPSEC, and freeleech. This created an environment where most of the freeloaders went there first, because it was the easier tracker to get into. The heavy uploaders were mostly uneasy about the poor OPSEC, and took the RED path.

So, Redacted has consistently had about double the torrents, regardless of the size of the userbase. Given the shrinking size of Apollo's userbase, the only reason the number of torrents hasn't been shrinking there instead of remaining mostly flat is because staff there turned the torrent inactivity script off after having several weeks of downtime.

This means a lot of their content is unseeded and underseeded compared to redacted.

"t. insane ____ spammer" types will contest some or all of this. But it's factual and based on numbers and the history of the two sites.

RED dwarfs Waffles in content (>3 to 1), but Waffles has been around for a long time and definitely has some unique content. The sad thing is that a good many of them remain unseeded due to Waffles being offline for many months. On the flip side, I've had luck with my reseed requests (PM'ing earlier snatchers).

As for getting in, invites seemed to be readily available looking at invite threads from other private trackers. I don't think they have any interview system unlike RED, but I may be wrong. RED has an interview guide (https://interviewfor.red/en/index.html) (third hit on google for 'red interview guide') and one can take the interview to get in there.

Getting PU on RED is the same as what. Uploading and filling requests. The fastest way is to fill requests (sometimes it takes money and sometimes it doesn't). Or, you can take the route of uploading 2017 releases (CDs or Bandcamp FLACs).

As for Waffles, I believe you have to upload a bit and download at least 5GB. Then again, Waffles has bonus points, so you can probably seed for awhile and then buy your way in the PU class.

Apollo exists, but it's having some serious problems and was always at half the torrents despite having twice the users.

At Redacted, they're pushing the concept of tokens harder than What.CD ever did, and leaning less on freeleech. The overall is that uploading is a little harder (because people aren't just re-downloading their entire music collections) but actually downloading what you want isn't that hard at all, because tokens are freebies.

Tokens means "you click the | FL | button" and it's freeleech for you, personally. So, it's like free buffer. Instead of sitting on freeleech torrents for 6 months hoping to make enough buffer on a home connection to download something you want, or buying a seedbox to pay to pirate, you can just use an FL Token to actually download something you want. And they expire in a certain amount of time (generally a couple of months) so there's no agonizing issue of hanging onto them for the "perfect" moment.
