https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/08/verizon-to-start-throttling-all-smartphone-videos-to-480p-or-720p/

Verizon is putting a resolution cap on all videos across all of their plans even the "unlimited" ones.

Do you think the free market will sort it out because FCC ain't doing shit?

I use my phone as a hotspot for my laptop in between classes because the wifi around campus is garbage.

1. There's already a thread
B. The proposed net neutrality laws wouldn't have protected against this anyway.

A. Sorry didn't see it
2. I'm not even sure it's a net neutrality issue since it is indiscriminate of video service, just a shitty move by a business that shouldn't be applied to customers already in a service agreement.

Sure. Another company will come in and advertise with "no limits on what resolution videos you watch!". Just like T-Mobile did with their unlimited stuff.
>>

is this the big changes rumored on here by some anon months ago
>>

>save money because it's too damn expensive anyway

Problem solved, why is this even an issue?
>>

Change carriers, there is still like 5 other options to switch to if you do not like it.
