And has it actually helped you do something productive?
I want there to be quite outside but the chicata bugs are so loud and make odd noises.

Tried it a couple times, but ubuntu packages are just easier to copy paste from online.

Nah...only for self-torture purposes when I feel to guilty for using non-free software on my GNU/Linux machine.

>Does anyone unironically use this?
Yes. I do.
>And has it actually helped you do something productive?
Yes. I run it on my dev machine. It has helped me because its package manager lets me handle multiple versions of the same packages and fine tune the features built therein as well as in the kernel. Portage allows me to test builds against multiple versions of a dependency and gives me control over my operating system.

>You copy pasted some packages from online, but then went back to windows?
Nah. I copy and pasted mpv+svp, and some neuro software for ubuntu. It only took a few brainless minutes to set up my computer as opposed to hunting around for dependencies, and setting up distcc for compiling. With ubuntu somebody already did it, and has it posted online for you to copy.
