Are boot camps worth it? I've been learning web development for over a year and I am looking for an entry level job. However it appears that most company requires some level of formal education in CS or equivalent. So I'm thinking about attending a coding bootcamp but it's quite pricey (~$10k). Is it a good way to break into the field or just a waste of time?

Bootcamps are intended for people who have a degree in graphical design but want to brush up on their HTML and CSS skills and some elementary programming skills. It's not actually intended for people who want to work as developers, but rather people who want to get into UX or design and already have a semi-relevant background there.

Try sending in applications anyway. You might wanna create a portfolio to show your stuff. Show that you are just as capable as someone with an education in CS. It's also possible to look for companies that are looking for junior developers as well.
