What is smart in the functional programming? The functional languages are not popular not because they're hard but because they're useless in general.

I guess you're just a manlet who cannot understand it. I'm pretty sure you don't have a job, and even if you do, 100% it's a code-monkey job.
So yeah, you should indeed kill yourself.

Got a guy at work who constantly complains about windows and how much more superior macs are. Says he wishes the software at work could run on a mac because he just hates windows so much.

Our software is entirely online based and you log into it using a web browser.

>Haskell is sandwiched between two layers of C++ in Sigma. At the top, we use the C++ thrift server.
In principle, Haskell can act as a thrift server, but the C++ thrift server is more mature and performant. It also supports more features. Furthermore, it can work seamlessly with the Haskell layers below because we can call into Haskell from C++. For these reasons, it made sense to use C++ for the server layer.
>>
>>62001656
>At the lowest layer, we have existing C++ client code for talking to other internal services. Rather than rewrite this code in Haskell, which would duplicate the functionality and create an additional maintenance burden, we wrapped each C++ client in a Haxl data source using Haskell's Foreign Function Interface (FFI) so we could use it from Haskell.

Why even argue? I didn't work in a company that didn't go 100% for macbooks for their technical team in the past 6 years. Apple support is great (albeit I like dell more), hardware up till the new macs weren't too bad and the OS has a ton of support from dev community.

Let's say we both go at an interview for any of the big tech companies or startups.
You solve the problems in whatever it is your language of choice is
I solve them in Haskell.
They are going to hire me, not you. Guess why?
>>
>>62003641
Let's say you'd actually stop shitposting and do something productive. The chances of you doing that are very low. Guess why?

Note: writing in haskell is the same as shitposting.

The only justifications to use a mac is if you're an iOS/Mac developer or graphical designer.

If you are not one of those and you spent 3000 dollars on a mediocre laptop, you're fucking retarded.

He was still shitposting despite saying he has better things to do. I don't blame him though, there is no difference between shitposting and writing in haskell.
