Is desktop VR destined to flop? I watched a few videos on YT yesterday few tűrik mobile VR games and I was blown away by the quality (considering it's just a phone).

Look into Need for Speed VR. That game looks awesome and you don't need any cable for it to work.

Even VR porn is better without cables. Especially when you're lying in bed.

On the other hand, yes, you have to charge it. And of course there isn't as much computing power. But in the long run, mobile VR is going to win.

In the long run VR is going to die out and AR will succeed but for the time being, mobile is definitely looking better than desktop right now.
>>

The best mobile headset I have is the gearvr and it really heats up my phone within 15-30 minutes and I imagine it happens to others, not to mention draining battery quite alot
Overheating to the point where the headset tells me to take the headset off

I think desktopvr will begin to grow exponentially as more AAA experiences come out for VR, but at a certain point all of the progress from desktop vr will suddenly stagnate while console vr grows. Console vr is way better for normies because it just werks and you can use vr controllers or regular controllers. Desktops may have roomscale but console vr will be way more accessible to normies

Will 2 USB 3.0 ports work for a rift and 3 sensors? I only have 2x 3.0 and the rest are 2.0
>>
>>62001846
Yes, the third sensor actually is required to be in a 2.0 port.
>>
I said it yesterday, but VR flight sims + flight stick setup is fucking amazing. I'm addicted to Elite Dangerous now, and honestly it's a little boring. But even the boring shit like delivering goods is fun because of the experience.
>>
>>62004338
vr flight sims make me vomit
>>
>>62002589
And the standard rift in the box with 2 sensors will work with 2x USB 3.0? (the rest are 2.0) If so I can order one soon
>>
Got a Vive 2 days ago on holiday. its amazing from what i have experienced of it

Stop pushing your dead meme general.
>>
>>61999981
They need to cut the price right down to $200 and leave it there.
>>
looked through the pastebin and im mostly impressed by the Dolphin games
Would they work just as well with oculus instead of vive?
>>
stop shilling vr

No.
>>
>>62004893
Yes, two are required to be 3.0 and the third must be 2.0
>>
>>62006574
Even with 3 sensors and the whole rift set with the touch? Sorry for all the questions just making sure

Any good dance games for the rift?
I think that's a huge bonus for VR
>>
>>62006810
We don't have leg tracking yet so that doesn't actually work yet.

But Airtone comes pretty close to dancing, you should try it out.
>>
>>62007832
There is the vive puck thing but they're expensive.
>>
>>62007893
They also don't work with the Rift.
>>
>>62007832
Surprised nobody's tried to mix in a Kinect style camera for whole body tracking. If it's high enough and covering the floor, it should be able to recognise foot placement at least. Would be very rough though.
>>
>>62006591
Oh I forgot about the rift, which must be in a 3.0 port. So no, you need 3 usb 3.0 ports. But you can get a 3.0 hub.
