>no removeable battery in phones
>no headphone jack

It defined the template that everyone else copied from that point forward.
You can thank Apple for the double-click.

Windows tablets are just touchscreen laptops with missing keyboards.
The iPad set the mold for the modern tablet.
New standards whose mainstream acceptance was driven by Apple:
>the GUI
>3.5" floppies
>optical media
>trackpads
>USB
>802.11 Wi-Fi
>capacitive multitouch screens
>solid state storage
>HTML5
>high DPI displays
>Thunderbolt
Legacy technologies whose demise was dramatically accelerated thanks to Apple:
>the command line
>5.25" floppies
>3.5" floppes
>serial and parallel ports
>Adobe Flash
>Java
>resistive, stylus-driven touch screens
>spinning hard disks
>optical media
>USB-A ports

And since then, many have overtaken it in form, function and value for money.

Why do you morons fall for misleading meme pictures so easily? Or is this just shitty trolling?
The F700 was *announced* in February 2007 (one month after the iPhone reveal) but wasn't actually released until November of the same year (five months after the iPhone was released).
Also it's clearly a dumbphone (weak 2006 phone hardware with a low-res display and no third-party app ecosystem) with a resistive touch screen (no multitouch).

You're either being obtuse, are underage v&, or just suck at reading comprehension.
digital video = QuickTime
Apple was the first company to have video encoding and decoding on a desktop computer. Microsoft was so desperate for Windows to have the same that they stole QuickTime code through a common third-party partner.
digital retail =/= e-commerce
Digital retail is the sale of digital goods like music, movies, TV shows, etc. The iTunes Store was the first (and still the leading) destination for this.
Also the iPod had a good ~7 year run before iPhone sales really started eating into it. Ironically, Microsoft announced the Zune (its second failed attempt at competing with Apple) just two months before the first iPhone was revealed.
Well nobody had to copy them.

I remember I had a Motorola A1200 in 2006. It's the first modern smartphone I can recall. Don't understand how can someone is willing to defend iPhones as the first smartphone ever.
