I've got a t440s for college stuff and the touchpad is horrible,

I've got a t440s for college stuff and the touchpad is horrible, so I can't really use the trackpoint with those buttons. The thing is, I want to map spacebar for left click, and alt for right click but only while I use the trackpoint.

How can one achieve that?

It seems difficult, because you have to set a timer after you left the trackpoint so the keyboard won't switch instantly back to the regular mapping.
