Need help with 4chanX regex filter. So I need to highlight a certain string, but I need it to match only if another certain string doesn't sit before it.
For example I want to match "one" if "two" doesn't sit before it. So "onetwo", "onethree" or "two one" will match, but "twoone", "twoonethree" won't.
I read the linked regex page and there's look-ahead, I need the opposite of that.

Does anyone know which of these is main and aux for the internal wifi connectors? I'm not sure what Ch0, Ch1, and Ch2 represent. I tried to get an answer to this in the previous thread, but this was the only resource I could find. I'm starting to suspect that my ISP is intentionally fucking my connection up late at night and switching it back to normal in the morning.

Is this a normal thing? Is there a way I can confirm it's happening? Because it's been going on for several days now. My connection at night gets really shitty and even cuts out for hours at a time, but just so happens to "randomly" go back to normal during the day.

Do they do this shit assuming that the person is some normalfag that sleeps all night and won't notice? I've heard of ISPs throttling connections that download a lot but that's never happened to me before, so I don't know what to think of this. It seems too consistent to be a coincidence.

I really wanted to get a new gpu but the prices are so messed up right now and I refuse to buy unreasonably priced gpu's.
So I am stuck with my XFX R9 390 until prices calm down.
The card is great and plays most of my games on high or max settings with good fps at 1440p, except FFXIV which happens to be my most played game I get about 20-30 fps on max settings which is a bummer but even that is okay I can deal with that.
However what I cannot deal with is the immense heat the card gives off when I use my computer.
It idles at 54 degrees Celcius and when I game it gets up to 86 Celcius.
I am thinking about putting an AIO on it with that kit sold online until I get a new gpu.
What do you guys think?
>>
>>61999567
Is your issue the heat that you feel, or just that the GPU reaches those temperatures? Because all that upgrading the cooling will do is disperse the heat of the GPU better in the surrounding air, meaning the heat you feel should be about the same, possibly even a bit more.
>>
>>61999613
I guess what I am saying is that the upstairs portion of my house gets really hot, even with windows open and doors open.
Its a noticeable difference when my pc is off.
>>
why doesn't intel make graphics cards?
>>
>>61999690
Yeah, better cooling in your PC won't fix that. Your PC will still generate the same amount of heat, better cooling just allows it to more efficiently remove that heat from your GPU into the surrounding air.
The only way you'd be able to not make your house heat up as much is if you'd did something retarded and drastic like having watercooling with the radiator being outside the actual house.

I uploaded a torrent the other day of a podcast I like. A few people downloaded the whole thing. Now, the torrent isn't being downloaded by anybody.

I'm worried because Qbitorrent says the number of seeders is 0(0), even though I should still be seeding it. The leechers are at 0(9). Is it still working, or is it not showing up for some reason since nobody is currently downloading it?

I don't have any automatic seeding ratio set and all the tracker URL's say that they're currently working.

I was originally at my friends house on his wifi when I made the torrent and now I'm home, could that have something to do with it? I've never had a problem seeding anything from home before.
>>
>>61999452
Yes
>>
>>62000157
The only solutions are to mitigate the heat generation, so getting a different GPU. Or to remove the heat from the house, by using air conditioning or moving the heat source outside or something. I'm guessing air conditioning isn't something you'd really want to do, so switching GPUs is probably the only option.
Personally I think switching a GPU because it makes your house hotter is a bit silly. But the 390 is a slightly hotter card than most I think. I'm pretty sure the newest Nvidia cards are lower temps.
>>
>>62000183
>seeders is 0(0),
You dont connect to other seeders when you're a seeder.
As long as the tracker is reporting a seeder then you're fine
>>
>>62000233
I have central air conditioning, seems like it has trouble getting upstairs tho. And I try to not use it.
I really wanted to get a 1070 a while back but I hesitated and when I was ready to buy one the prices of a 1070 went to 500+. I have 400 Saved right now and was looking at the Vega even tho it would have probably made my room hotter.
I'm pretty much saying fuck it cause there are no decent priced gpus it seems so I am going to save a few more weeks and just get a 1080 ti seeing as they are barely over msrp compared to the other gpu's.
>>
>>62000331
>I have 400 Saved right now and was looking at the Vega even tho it would have probably made my room hotter.
Oh yeah, don't do that if you care about temperatures at all.

>I'm pretty much saying fuck it cause there are no decent priced gpus it seems so I am going to save a few more weeks and just get a 1080 ti seeing as they are barely over msrp compared to the other gpu's.
That's probably the only option. I am not sure how much it will really matter though, while those cards are more efficient and have lower temps, they'll still produce more heat if you're using them.

I need help with two different operating systems (Windows 7 64-bit and Manjaro), but they have the same problem. I am trying to back up a lot of my files to an external hard drive, but at random times, the copying and pasting will stop because it says that the file name or directory name is too long to copy. One problem I have with this is that I don't know what is considered too long and don't want to dig through every folder shortening every file and folder name. The other problem is that when this message pops up, it completely stops the copying and pasting operation and I lose track of where I was.

Can't you tell which file it is by when it stops copying?
And Windows at least has some way to use short filenames or something, basically a filename that points to the same file but is just shorter. This helped me in the past, but I used it to just delete the file. Pretty sure you'd need to know which file it is though.
In the future, I'd say try to keep sub-directories to a minimum. I think Windows has a limit of like 255 characters for the full path.

I'm sure there are ways to do fix this in some way on Linux, though I don't know them.

I've heard about Pascal giving really wonky results with overclocks, is this just what I'm seeing?

Yeah maybe, but I still expected a 100Mhz+ increase to yield something.

I'll try running it a few more times and see what happens, I'm also trying lowering the memory OC ever so slightly as I noticed that beyond a point it started hurting FPS when I first dialed it in. Maybe it's drawing more power at the higher OC and needs a lower memory OC or some shit.

Can someone provide tl/dr version of what's happening with the AMD stuff? I thought initial response to their new video cards was okay?
>>
>>62002230
I have no idea what /g/ thinks of them since I never read the Intel vs. AMD vs. Nvidia Threads, but here in Germany they cost 500-600€+++, they are only on par (sometimes faster, sometime slower) with the 1,3 years ago released GTX1080 (non Ti) and consume +100W compared to the GTX1080.
So yeah, an utter fail after the quite nice RyZen.
>>
>>62002230
Zen is better than Kaby Lake in basically everything except clock rates(which means intel's unlocked CPUs still have better single-threaded performance). Vega is... pretty disappointing as a release. It's a year late, very power hungry and despite all of that doesn't even compete with 1080ti.
>>
>>62002230
>I thought initial response to their new video cards was okay?
It was okay in that they performed on par or slightly better than the cards from Nvidia at the same MSRP or lower. Problem is that those cards are pretty old already, there are newer and better (and more expensive) cards, and their power consumptions is better. And something about AMD possibly only having that cheaper MSRP for a short while.

Why do RAM timings keep increasing every generation instead decreasing?
How is more latency good?
>>
>>61999506
on some ISPs with shitty infrastructure the lines can get congested and slow everyone down, but thats usually only during peak hours and not really at night, you could try calling your ISP and asking for support and describing your situation to them.
>>
>>62002606
The latency measured in cycles increases, because the frequency increases. The real latency stays more or less the same, because you're running against physics and there just isn't much room for improvement(although new technology always has its quirks, so it takes a few iterations to get there).
>>
>>62001615
It would work as long as all the sticks are the same voltage, your mobo will run all the RAM at the same speed, so it will only be as fast as your slowest stick of ram.

I did check the resource monitor while opening the file, I don't remember the HDD values but I don't think it was very high. The CPU usage was done by the excel.exe process. It takes close to two full minutes to open and it goes from 10~20% CPU total usage (before opening the file) to 100% usage for the totality of those two minutes (flat line, it never goes down) to 10~20% after opening the file and doing nothing.

if pos == array.len() {
return;
}
array[pos] = val;
set_values(pos+1, val+1, array);
}

This works by calling
set_values(0, 32, &mut my_array);

Why the fuck the recursive call in set_values doesn't need the fucking "&mut"?
And why the fuck if I decide to put it there it won't work anymore unless I specify
fn set_values(pos: usize, val: u64, mut array: &mut[64])

Guys, i have a 5yo laptop with a GT 540M.

Does upgrading/updating my drivers is beneficial or not in this case? Like, i have that Optimus stuff since is a latop, but my gpu is always on/active through the nvidia control panel.

The thing is, i was using the 353.62 driver from 2015 and it was running fine but then i deicided to update to 384.76. The thing now is, Skyrim won't fucking detect my gpu, it worked fine with the older driver but the new driver seem to be better to Diablo 3, another game i play.

So, what the fuck do i do, do i revert to this older driver? Does laptop gpus don't gain much from new drivers?

So my Wangblows 10 refused to boot today on my laptop. Running chkdsk in boot repair says that it can't find a C:\ drive on it, but it can find my SD Card just fine.

How fucked am I

I usually look at previous versions of the driver on the website, pick one at random, install it, and see if it changed anything. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I bought a cheap $70 android tablet to read blogs and watch youtube videos with, but the youtube app doesn't have a way to increase the speed of the videos, and I like to watch videos at faster speeds. What is the best way to accomplish this?

Is there any difference between a small TV and a regular PC monitor?
My 10 years old monitor I've had since highschool just kicked the bucket and I think it's time to upgrade from 1366x768 to at least 1080p or 1440p, but I'm not sure if I should get a TV or a proper monitor.

Update: Let Windows try to boot while I looked for Hiren's, came back and it was at the login screen. Logged in fine, running chkdsk and sfc, crystaldisk says the drive is in good health.

Try to make use of a private tracker, or just use proxy bunker. That, or your ISP has block them.

if I want to work with databases should I learn sql and mysql, postgresql for relational and mongodb, cassandra for non-relational? if I want to work specifically with cloud storage should I focus on non-relational database (probably cassandra) plus what (stuff like redis, memcached, elasticsearch etc)?

Failing connector is still possible but not that likely.

>>62008678
If your goal is only protect your data from someone else being able to see it, just the encryption is fine.

If your goal is making life hard for any thief trying to resell your machine, BIOS password does help.

Literally Google Raspberry Pi seedbox/torrentbox - that being said the last time I looked at them, be very careful which model you buy as I *think* a lot of them run Ethernet and USB off the same bus, meaning writing to external drive and torrenting will throttle each other.
