1. Don't post personal information online in the first place.
2. Use decent passwords. Don't use the ssme password for multiple sites. A password management system makes this much easier.
3. Know who can see what you do online. HTTPS makes it so your ISP can't see your passwords, but if a "friend" or virus has access to your machine, you're private information is ruined. Your OS can also see what you do online, so use a good one.
