Go get yourself a DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 modem and your own router and enjoy your improved service.

However if you do use it just know they've got built in backdoors on their modems to help with customers trouble shooting.

So if you're a privacy nut, don't use it.

pretty much all ISP routers have backdoors to allow them to check out at least basic information on your network, their usual excuse is they need it to help old people and tech illiterates fix internet issues.

I would check your next bill to see if it has a rental fee. These companies do slimy things to shake you down for additional fees.
