Xfinity recently sent me another modem+router device right before I set up my own modem and router. It was never activated, and I have already returned my previous rented modem+router. This one isn't showing up on my account, as far as Comcast is concerned I don't have it.
Can I just... keep it?
Did you "order" it?

Nope, it was sent to me (I guess they didn't realize they had already upgraded me to the wireless AC unit because it's identical to the one I recently returned to them.)
>>61982447
its yours nigga
Never use Comcast's shit tier equipment.
Go get yourself a DOCSIS 3.0 or 3.1 modem and your own router and enjoy your improved service.

Even better, verify you aren't getting charged for it, sell it and then use the money to buy the docsis.
If it's not on your account its yours.
However if you do use it just know they've got built in backdoors on their modems to help with customers trouble shooting.
So if you're a privacy nut, don't use it.
Do you think you can make money off of it? Then sell it
Are you concerned that it'll come back to you? Then just fucking return it
>hoarding useless routers

Weren't those just the Arris models?
This is a Cisco DPC3941T (It looks like the Arris models but is bigger)

It wouldn't be useless, I'd use it for myself when I move out. Parents are fine with the Wireless N router + 400mbps modem I installed for them (modem was cheap and router was laying around)

>>61982857
The DPC3941T is DOCSIS 3.0 compliant

>Weren't those just the Arris models?
pretty much all ISP routers have backdoors to allow them to check out at least basic information on your network, their usual excuse is they need it to help old people and tech illiterates fix internet issues.

you're gonna get fucked by an unreturned equipment fee at some point m8
it'll get back through inventory that you have it
>>61982819
it's probably the same arris/tp link/motorola rebadged.

These routers are trash. Mine literally dropped internet connection twice a day until spectrum sent me a different model
Enjoy paying $20 per month for it
I would check your next bill to see if it has a rental fee. These companies do slimy things to shake you down for additional fees.
I just got cable one and they're charging me for a modem even though I didn't order one.
