Heard about Tails in another thread re: Anonymity and Privacy. Apparently launching that bad boy from a flash drive makes you all but invisible.
Wanted to get a discussion going on people's experiences with it, is it overrated? Useful? Good to have lying around on a flash?
well i suppose it depends what you want to do, still gonna need a vpn, still gonna have to change some browsing habits etc. i suppose its alright

Good to have lying around, but for fucks sake remember to update the system so you get security patches. Also the system won't save you from yourself so practice good OPSEC. That means make it a lifestyle habit on both clear and dark net.

My internet habits aren't TOO risky/sketchy, but in the face of all this "Net Neutrality" bullshit, I'm seeking out what methods exist for my more illegal activities (Piracy is safe, for now).
For VPNs, do you trust the paid services that are now popular for it? Or is there an alt. method you'd recommend. Was thinking of getting into this as well, but I'm a bit of an amateur.

for VPNs i just use PIA, people have different opinions for VPNs, find what is good for you, review the policies and stuff

Net neutrality being removed means your ISP can actually prevent you from connecting to VPNs and tor nodes. So if net neutrality is removed in your country you're fucked. Welcome to north korea. Funny thing is trump was against net neutrality and 4chan couldn't stop sucking his dick either way.

My isp doesn't even allow me to download from mediafire & maybe some other sites I don't know of..
Tor, or a vpn is the only way I can get those links to work
>>61966564
If you want to use Tor and have plausible deniability, then use it for everyday web browsing (but never to login to any accounts). If you only ever use it for illegal things, it would be pretty easy for your ISP to correlate times.

Tails approach is to make all Tails users look the same. The persistent storage options are nice.

>implying they'll know you're doing anything illegal
>>61966844
The point is they can just as easily block Tor and VPN.

yeah I know, I wasn't arguing. I was just saying they're already blocking some of my stuff, so i'm sure you're right.
