Should I go through the process of building my Arch Linux from scratch or just skip all of this and install a prepared distro such as Manjaro or Antergos? What are the pros and cons of both?
>>
Try the Linux thread or the sqt, you didn't need to make a thread for this. Go from scratch because why not.

Why are you not able to answer that question yourself?
If you think you're able to go from scratch and value that kind of freedom go for it otherwise don't.

install gentoo

You could always use an installer like Arch-anywhere, it adds a gui to the arch install process. I use manjaro, it's great, but if you want to use pure arch, go with the installer.

Install ubuntu or any debian-based distro

Arch is a meme

no u

arch is comfy though, did an arch dev beat the shit out of you or something?

If you want an easy Arch I would strongly advise you use Antergos over Manjaro because of Manjaro's _horrible_ security record.

Install Source Mage

The whole point of arch it to install it exactly like you need it (depending on autism without systemd). An installer only gets in your way. That beeing said, if you don't want to "waste your time" get thumbleweed.

Installing by hand also encourages to use the wiki.

I'd say that with arch if you have the patience and are willing to learn a few things you can get a setup that fits you better than any pre-built distro
If you want something that just works don't go with a distro based on arch, they all suck. Use debian or suse, heck ubuntu is really nice for beginners as the community is a lot more noob friendly
