Drop Chrome for Tor Browser, Brave, or Firefox.
Drop Gmail for ProtonMail, or host your own email server with Mail-in-a-box.
Drop Google Search for DuckDuckGo or StartPage.
Drop Google DNS for I dunno, something.

I use Bing instead of google.com.
Moving my email to an outlook one, temporarily, until I find an alternative.
Will move all my stuff from google drive.
Changed DNS to Open DNS.
Logged out and removed all google accounts on the phone. Disabled their services.
Using Chromium which is an open-source project on which many devs from outside gewgle are contributing. I wouldn't mind using Edge or some other shit either.

You don't. Most millennials are cucked. The government should be investigating them for a variety of things anyway. This is a company that not too long ago agreed to not compete for employees with the likes of Apple, among others. They're rotten the core and the point of government is to regulate this sort of stuff.

Why searx.me?
>>
Google will be fine no matter what anyone here does. The problem is, the average person will see absolutely no reason to give up what they are comfortable with. I work with the public and technology, they are epic creatures of habit. Not only will they refuse to use something different, they will get angry about it. I've seen people look at me with terror in their eyes from just showing them a simple process.

Google will be here for the foreseeable future.

I've been using DuckDuckGo for about a year. For most things it works as well as Google search but sometimes I still have to turn to Bing or Google. Nice thing about DDG is that it has Bang Commands, which allow you to initiate search on other platforms from the DDG page.
!gim taco trucks - would do a Google Image search for taco trucks
!a JavaScript for masochists - would do an Amazon search for JavaScript books
They have hundreds of these. Makes searching nice.

protonmail is recommended by privacy.io, I trust them instead of some random guy on /g/

DDG's only problem is that their servers are hosted in America, could lead to trouble but as a normal user you can use it with no problems
>>
Someone on /pol/ mentioned some kind of browser addon that instead of removing adsense ads, just hides them and then clicks them all. The idea being that when lots of people use it, advertisers will notice useless trash traffic and move elsewhere.

Would that actually work?...on two levels...
First of all, don't they have protections in place to discount suspicious clicking activity? Clicking them all seems pretty suspicious.

Second, even if the traffic quality deteriorates, wouldn't it simply lead to advertisers bidding less overall instead of moving away?

Just throwing this out there for discussion. Would be nice to be able to do something actually effective.

The only thing preventing me from getting off Google is the amount of spam I get normally. When I host my own email so much spam non-stop. So much that it causes high load on the servers doing spam scanning. It's insane.

With Google hosting my email, I've gotten just one spam delivered to my Inbox in the past however many YEARS. I know it's botnet, and I hate not having the privacy and control, but, SHIT. Where the fuck is decent spam protection? SpamAssassin and shit tons of RBLs, DKIM, SPF ain't cutting it at all.

Protonmail is damn convenient, a few secs to set up an account, no bullshit.

But being managed by such a small team I feel like it's just a matter of time before they need to virtue signal and doxx the users in response to some Buzzfeed bullshit. Or at the very least, close accounts.

>>61960179

ProtonMail scans all of its user's e-mails unless they're encrypted. That's no different to using gmail with mailvelope. And if you count the security vulnerabilities, it's safer to just use gmail. This is all factual (not an opinion of some random guy on /g/) and can be proven with less than 30 seconds of research.

As for DDG, see >>61958671
>>
>>61960312
Scans in what way? Curious
>>
>>61960345
It's to prevent spam, but that's exactly what Google says. Companies can't, and should not be trusted with that kind of information. The only option is to have client-side filters to detect specific keywords/links, or not have it at all. But if you consider spam protection a necessity, it wouldn't be difficult to integrate the server's spam-detection algorithm into user apps or websites.

Instead of believing every site like privacytools.io you should have an inherent lack of trust automatically, for every service until you find one that you can actually trust (which often means hosting your own).

Google Search -> DuckDuckGo

>>
>>61960727
it's very clear in the screenshot you took, they don't

I mean, but why are you even suggesting going back to gmail? that's the dumbest thing you could do if you don't trust Protonmail
>>
>>61960768
there was a good application from F-Droid, you could subscribe to channels and see comments (but can't comment, since you don't have an actual account); but of course that's just for phones
>>
>>61960778
Spam messages are written to the disk, unencrypted. If your message or any message you received is considered spam they can read it. So all they have to do is redefine what they consider spam to see your messages, which is unnecessary and a privacy concern for anyone with privacy concerns. It could be anything from "nudes" to CC information. End result being ProtonMail is no different to gmail with mailvelope. So what part of that makes you think I'm suggesting gmail with mailvelope if I'm already against ProtonMail?

3. use AT&T's or Comcast's email services instead of Google's

4. use chormimum instead of chrome, if that's still not good enough then use vivialdi
