I've been given a Dual CPU Mac Pro 4,1 (2009) for free.

Is it worth firmware upgrading to 5,1 and putting 2x x5680/90 CPUs in it?

Or is it going to cost me so much extra in electricity bills, especially having 2x 135W TDP chips in... I might as well just build a new Ryzen build to get the same performance.

Maybe in single core operations but dual Westmere-EPs will still hold up fairly decently in multi core loads.
