Anyone on /g/ has any experience with building a CMS? Pic related.

Yes. I learned after a long time that PHP is shit. You shoul learn it also already.
just use an existing one flaming faggot
Makes me nostalgic for the first CMS I built 15-20 years ago.

This is what /wdg/ is for

Python's Django framework has good libraries for doing that. I highly recommend it.

That's web design general you fucking idiot. This obviously isn't "general" topic

Did I step through a time machine, is it 2005 again? There is no reason to write a CMS in $current_year. Just use an existing one, submit patches to it if it doesn't work exactly like you want.
And to echo >>61953158 , don't use PHP. Python was trendy a few years ago, but I think all the cool kids are moving to Go now. I was never a cool kid, I like http://www.impredicative.com/ur/

I mean, I'm having fun writing CMS, I do other things besides it, that's one reason, other reason is my job is to write custom CMS's. Also, maybe 'cool kids' like to use their hipster languages, but reality is, at least where I live, you won't get hired with those languages, PHP is very much in demand here.
