What are /g/'s opinions on refurbished laptops? Is it worth buying a workstation several years old and expect it to hold up for another 5 years or so?
Or are refurbs just a meme?

I'm shilling here, but /tpg/ is probably the most usable refurb. They're dirt cheap for what the can get done.
I have a refurb xps15, it was definitely new when i got it.

Not here in Swedistan though, a refurb thinkpad with a FHD screen is about 600 usd.

Netherlands here. Bought a t520 refurb with better screen, a ssd and 8gb ram for 500 euros but it was definitely worth it. Felt like a brand new laptop and I expect it to run for 3+ years. Not a bad deal imho.

Yeah, I mean. there are retro thinkpads from the 90s that still run like a charm. Im just trying to get a FHD for cheap for uni (Programming).
