Reminder that 16:9 is outdated and that 4K and 144hz are memes.

Join the 21:9 master race and never look back.
>>
4k a meme? do you hate sharp fonts and graphics?
>>
>>61950091
I don't need a stretched out version of my 27" screen.
Give me one with the height of a 32" 16:9 monitor and then we'll talk.
>>
>>61950159
8K is out. Don't push old tech.
>>
>>61950091
21:9 displays are always going to be more expensive for smaller displays with lower resolutions.
40"+ 16:9 UHD displays are the future.
>>
>>61950176
Aren't there some 40"+ displays that are in cinema ratio but usually used for public displays? You could get one of those.

4:3 will always be the superior aspect ratio

>more vertical space
>the internet is practically designed with 4:3 in mind
>easier to read
>less electricity wasted
>cheaper
>vidya in general looks better on 4:3

b-b-but what about fov ratio??
>what are fov scalers

oh yeah and old movies and shit fit the display perfectly

in conclusion 16:9 and 21:9 are memes
>>
>>61950314
40" is too big desu. 32-36 is perfect. Personally getting a 27" UHD display because poorfag.
>>
I am as soon as I have room for a new monitor.

>>61950685
21:9 is quite close to rocking dual 5:4 monitors, you just don't have a bezel between them.
>>
>>61950091
Nice chin on that shitty monitor, faggot.

21:9 is a meme and will end soon.
>>
>>61950091
>buying literal trash
>>
>>61950965
You're right, why would anyone buy a 16:9 monitor?
>>
>not buying 16:10
okay
>>
>>61950685
>more vertical space
You mean the same about it space, right
>the internet is practically designed with 4:3 in mind
That's not 2006 anymore
>easier to read
It's the same fucking thing
>less electricity wasted
Of course, the screen is a lot smaller. Also, CRTs are dead, no need to care about power consumption anymore.
>vidya in general looks better on 4:3
Again, that's not 2006 anymore.

>fov scalers
kek

>16:9 is outdated and that 4K and 144hz are memes
You are correct.
Too bad we don't have 8k 288Hz 8:5 panels yet.
>>
>>61951020
Okay faggot, how much horizontal space does 4chan take on your """""""""""advanced""""""""""" 21:9 monitor?

Nah. Use 5:4 and 16:10 together.

>>

With anything, since when are certain aspect ratios restricted to porn?

where did you get this from? It's complete falsehood.

>playing on anything lower than glorious 21:9

>>
>>61951281
Because there are no other good uses for it. The screen is too small to create two workspaces and too big for one, so two FHD screens will work better.
>>
>>61951331
>the screen is too small
Get one that isn't, dumbass

I went for the 144hz meme and it's the biggest change I've felt since 1366x768 > 1920x1080. Actually, that doesn't do it justice. Going from 60hz to 144hz is a bigger leap than just a resolution bump.

Objectively 1:1 is best resolution. The less square the more meme it is. 16:10 is borderline acceptable, everything wider is disgusting. Also multiple monitors is a meme too

>>61952633
which part of 43" 4k do you not understand? No scaling required at that size.
>>
>>61952684
It's less than 110dpi, enjoy your giant pixels. Even 110dpi isn't good enough, you can still see pixels at the meme distance of 31'. The entire point of 4k is to eliminate visible aliasing and pixelation, a TV-sized monitor fails at that,
>>
>>61952684
I'll take 4 21.5" WUXGA monitors over one 43" 4K monitor any day. Same total size, same PPI, better aspect ratio, and I can angle them individually.
>>
>>61952772
Oh no, I'll see pixels when I sit 10 inches away from it, the horror

>>61952778

>>
>>61950778
>40" is too big desu.
Narrower than most 24" dual monitor setups.
About as tall as a 24" monitor turned vertical.

Monitors in the 32-36" range are too big to have multiple displays, but not big enough to replace multiple displays.
50" is probably my limit on too big without some kind of virtual monitor manager.
>>
>>61952772
>The entire point of 4k is to eliminate visible aliasing and pixelation,
On a traditional tiny display that is the only point.
On a next-generation large format display it gives you more typical PPIs but at a massive scale.

Its really only a stopgap though until we get 40"+ 8k displays. Then we can have both a usable amount of work space on a single display and ultra sharp images.

21:9 is a 4k monitor that they cut part of the screen away from because of dead pixels. Get a 4k.
>>
>>61950199

I hunger for a 4 by 4 grid of 1080p ip camera streams.
>>
>>61951225

Games use anything. Some resolution take a bit more fiddling but your computer is doing the rendering so it can be anything.
