I recently switched from Windows 7 to Fedora and I'm looking for a decent text editor for Java. Any good editors that are similar to Notepad++?

Using text editor for Java is a bad idea. Use Eclipse or Netbeans or IntelliJ
Vim, Emacs, Atom, Kate and others text editors.
Try all of these text editors 1 week and choose what is the best for you.

I tried Vim and Emacs, too hard for my stupid brain!
Does notepad++ not work on linux?

It might work through wine, I think Notepad++ is a windows only program.

Notepad++ is based on scite IIRC, which is available on linux
Sublime
vim or die

The closest thing to Notepad++ on GNU/Linux is notepadqq.
The best editor however is still Vim.

Textadept is quite close to Notepad++.

Netbeans is an IDE but is my go to. If you want a real text editor try either vim or emacs and a plugin for the job like taglist for vim.

Eclipse is a clusterfuck.

I used to use eclipse on windows, it was better than netbeans and I did try vim and emacs but they're just too hard for me
