alright, /g/. been a longtime lurker here, posting for the first time. Gonna be buying a laptop in the near future, need something that I'll be able to run some vidya at at least medium-high settings (Fallout 4, No Man's Sky, The Witcher 3) at a bearable framerate. I also need to be able to edit 1080p video without the thing exploding. Suggestions?

Get whatever you feel like because all gaming laptops are awful.

Then get a laptop and a handheld until you are settled. Most people would recommend the 3DS, but I'm more partial to a hacked Vita.

just get the razer blade, keep it off your balls, get a aluminium mini laptop table that holds your laptop. Studies have been shown that laptops fry your reproductive organs, and cause urinary problems.

just build a pc faggot it's easier than ever
Worst decision I've ever made was a gaming laptop. When I need a laptop it's too much. When I need a workstation, my dock station setup is awkward. I would much rather have had a PC with the power I need and then get by with a phone and keyboard on the go until I could nab an X220. Alternatively, if workstation means normie shit plus Vidya: as my life got busier I lost time for video games. So now I just want an X220 with a docking station for Dem USB ports and sata slots.

You're fucking kidding right?
If you are sure you want a gaming laptop, the lenovo Y720 is pretty great.

Razor Blade is the only gaming laptop worthy of lugging around, if you don't mind a little bulkier look into the MSI's..just bear in mind as mentioned above...youre paying $2k+ for hardware that will be outdated in a year or two. If you don't mind that or the overheating then go for it anon
