Manufacturers are putting resistors, capacitors, diodes, and other small electronic components inside the printed circuit board itself to save space.

How do you feel about this?
>>
>>61911408
its fine. only thing that burns out on boards like that are voltage regulators, and capacitors. and obvious chips.
>>
>>61911408
>cap bust repair or diagnosis is now impossible
>you now have to throw away the whole thing if a cap busts

"Muh thin" normies made this happen.
>>
>>61911439
Only downside for sure. But smaller things isn't always a bad thing.
>>
>>61911439
>caps
>embedded

nigga
>>
>>61911439
PC components are meant to be field replaceable
>>
>>61911408
>"People keep resoldering new caps after are shit ones blew instead of buying a whole new board! How do we fix this?"
>"Put them inside of the board itself so they are forced to buy a new board, potential caps busting could damage the whole board, and the board will be less flexible so it will be more prone to damage, all forcing them to buy new boards!'
>"Oy Vey, thats genius!"
>>
>>61911439
when was the last time you had to perform a repair like that on something that wasn't ancient, useless garbage that was treated like utter shit to begin with

it's not the 1980s anymore, the reason everything was more repairable was because the component quality was fucking trash and it was more economical to do so, now modern surface-mount components are so reliable that dealing with that bullshit is retarded and it would just trigger "muh cheap" nerds like you that gawk at a $900 system like a brand new 7 series
>>
>>61911893
>gawk at a $900 system like a brand new 7 series

>comparing semi-premium electronics to the most unreliable German car on the market

shiggy
>>
>>61911917
of course it's a piece of shit but its an expensive piece of shit and that's the comparison we're making here
>>
>>61911893
this guy is pretty much correct, what even comes with electrolytic caps anymore? Surely not pc components. Outside from retro gaming and old audio equipment repairs. I never deal with capacitors. For some reason they are shit on every single 16bit cd unit.
>>
>>61911893
I don't think they will be able to integrate electrolytic caps into the PCB like those SMD components, because they're fucking huge.
>>
>>61911408
>To save space
how will placing parts inside a PCB save space?
It's still the same parts?
>>
>>61912033
Electrolyte is active ingredient in most SMD Caps, not all but most
>>
>>61912050
This. Of course faggot OP provides no source. How does this save space? Trying to use this for 3 layers of components will fuck you up badly too since you lose routing and via space.
>>
>>61911408
HOW? Dammit what is this magic?
