Are you mentally retarded, anon? Who said anything about shitty monitors? The cheapest I would consider is a Sony HW65ES. I would prefer a JVC for the black level though. I think X5500 is the cheapest these days as they dropped the low range.

I got myself a projector 10 years ago from ebay for 150 bucks, second hand. The remote had "library" written on it, so probably stolen. Either way. It lasted me 6 years. The image was shitty, sure, but it covered a whole fucking wall. Gaming on it was a bit ridiculous, but having a projector literally made my house the go to place for pizza nights in college. Now I have a benq from amazon, 300 euros and 4 years running almost daily, zero problems. My best friend got one recently just from all the times we used mine together. One of the best purchases I have made. Havent had a proper tv in 10 years, i game on my pc and play media on the projector screen.

Cheap DLP projectors are fucking great if you can ignore the major problems they have like terrible black levels and rainbows. Add reflections from light living room walls and you have roughly no contrast left.
But hey, most people are completely oblivious to all the problems that plague TVs and monitors.
