Lets discuss pic related. It was made with help of madshi and multiple madvr experts. I think its still relevant for mpv.

No. It makes image softer.

What are you using? A Pentium II?

I use it with an old as 3rd gen i5+1050Ti and runs perfect.

I did not have any issues running it with a G550+GT730 neither.

I don't know, maybe you play 60GB 4k files or something.

It sure consumes a lot of memory, but 15% CPU isn't that much, not enough to slow down MPC+MadVR or the computer.

What do I actually need to choke with MPC and MadVR?

Sorry but how can I like mpv if

>doesnt have the UI that I want
>doesnt have all hotkeys
>not user friendly from the start
>cant access options

I am used to K-lite MPC and memorized where to find and change tweaks/options, shortcuts, hotkeys that i need, and the BOSS KEY.
Sorry but I cant take the MPV pill right now at its current form. But I do agree VLC is unlikeable except the fact that it got iOS/Android versions and can access network computers and shared devices and play stuffs from the network..
So, can someone enlighten me if MPV is better aside from it taking almost 0% of your pc storage and how great it was programmed?
AND AGAIN, VLC ON PC IS SHIT IMO
>>
Why are even recent anime encodes using AAC and not Opus? Why is uptake of Opus so shit? ffmpeg supports it pretty good now, doesn't it?
>>

>>doesnt have all hotkeys
It actually does, and you can set it to whatever you want.

you can, in the form of a config file. there are too many options in mpv to use menus.
>>cant find tweaks easily
I could, depends on the peraon I guess.
>>you need to do a lot of stuffs to make it to your liking, probably
Again, depends on the person.

Look, if you dont want to take the time to learn about new software then don't. Us whatever you want.

hr-seek=yes doesn't seem to work but thanks anyway.
>>61888907
Using , and . does work to go through a gif but that's just going forwards or backwards.
What I want is to be able to skip to a later point in a gif, for example to skip a part in a really long gif.
I suppose maybe I should just convert all my gifs to webm instead if this can't be done.

>>doesnt have the UI that I want
I love how people never explain what they actually want in a UI.

How long are your gifs? Why would you make gifs so long instead of using webm? The filesize must be huge if it takes too long to seek to the end.

I just compared the absolute maximum placebo madVR preset to RAVU r3 smoothtest1 in 720p -> 1080p animu scenario and RAVU won for me thanks to its natural lines. Otherwise they looked very close.

madVR preset (30ms render time):
>NGU AA Very High -> SSIM2D+remove ringing artifacts
mpv preset (5.5ms render time):
>RAVU r3 smoothtest1 -> mitchell

Of fucking course im not going back :D

>It actually does, and you can set it to whatever you want.
Doesnt it have a default set of hotkeys?
>you can, in the form of a config file. there are too many options in mpv to use menus.
But at the start, theres no config file, and one needs to find the config files and the needed codes on the internet and at least memorize it a bit, and a little typo would mess the config file, or messing it up might render it useless,
also, it seems you need to restart mpv to apply new config.
Setting it up is kinda troubling, it feels like playing a game with only a start and exit from the start and with a hidden console that you dont know what to do.

This is only a concern for retards who and people who dont want to take a lottle time to learn new software. You can run mpv in the terminal and it will tell you if there are any errors. Or you can set it to make a log file.
>also, it seems you need to restart mpv to apply new config.
Not if you set a hotkey to cycle values

I just bought a PS4 for my games; never been happier. My workstation is now 100% clean and doesn't even need a powerful GPU (except what I need for mpv) and runs only linux. Meanwhile games just work without having to go through the hassle of dual booting, WINE, debugging issues with the graphics drivers, and so on.

(Also, lets me play “““exclusives””” like P5, Y0 or Ni-Oh - all of which I loved)

I'll grant you that, they're all really quite bad. What I did was look at how I listen my music and organize my files accordingly so that now I'm only using mpv + a couple of scripts to listen to it.

no. The upload frame refers to the time it takes from the decoder to get to the GPU. When the frame is being decoded, it's obviously already in your system RAM, which means SMB has no influence whatsoever.
