I have to split off /boot for crypto but I don't even bother with a swap partition anymore. I think the only downside of a swap file is that it can fuck up suspend-to-disk, which I don't care about.

It's better to encrypt some files only, and to decrypt them not connected to the internet, with read-only mounted disks, with unprivileged user, with a live cd.

I use LVM to pool my 5tb drive with 2 1tb drives for 7tb of storage. Unfortunately I fell for the xfs meme and it turns out xfs is slow as shit. Wish I had formatted it ext4 but I don't have anywhere to move the data while I reformat.
