i wish it were russian
I don't know much about ships on a technical level. But I think its crazy how big the chains are for their anchors.

me uncle lenny, he had the bowel cancer, they say he got it from crashing his boat on the rocks down the port here years ago. they had to sew his bumhole up and he had to have a bumbag. He bent right over and showed me his asshole once, it looked like an old baloon knot and it felt all squishy.
oh i wish yous had pics of dredgers on there.
fuck yeah boats. Nothing is cooler than boats

Why are they big chains, ropes are pretty strong nowadays and they dont rust.
id like to contribute.
How big ships move is a total mystery to me. Or actually how can it be anywhere near optimal to use propellers? Big fucking propellers.
This drunk shiphand took me and my friend to a cruise ships engine room once. Shit was ridiculous. Huge loud rooms full of pumping pistons. Also many workshops for when shit breaks they can repair it on the fly. He said the passengers are clueless how much the ship actually breaks down on cruises.
>>61848228
chains are mainly for anchors and well mainly that ropes just dont cut it, and secondly ropes wont take marine growth too well
stupid thermal engines
SAIL is the true perpetummobile
>>61848243
yeah thats true alright. but the engineers are the mechanics and the engine room is like its own workshop so no need to visit a workshop.
engines are the best for ships. they can run at much higher speeds.
>>61848243
>How big ships move is a total mystery to me.
it's easier to answer than why planes fly
not eve that much math involved as far as I know
nah planes can crash with the loss of all on baord at least with a ship you are on the ground so no need to worry about crashing at high speed into the water.
>>61848243
Actually, most big repairs in cruise ships are done by on-shore teams. On-board engineers just run the systems.
It's on bal-carriers, tankers, chemical ships, etc. where repairs are done on board because of the nature of the cargo.
>>61848322
just last month whole crew of a freighter drowned in black sea
people die as much in sea as in planes
>>61848051
yeah i love ships and the marine industry even thou im not in the trade, id love to ba a engineer
Wish I lived somewhere near the sea, i'd buy a boat.
>>61848340
oh but how many were there mmmm, say about 20 or so wow thats a lot compared to a 100 plus on a plane.
yeah its all good guys
oh the americants are up yet they are lazy cunts.
keep the dream alive as its a stale day on here
>>61848277
Chinese lapping... i can almost smell it from here.
its korea mate.
its all right on the north sea ta the moment.
just on standby duties.
here is a chinese man welding
oh cool place men.
oh man what the hell is this ships, i gotta check out the link.
>>61848051
>>61848532
you dont need that much precision at 200rpm tops , the cylinder lapping is what matters
>>61848366
take a cruiseliner w/ 3k people onboard
overall stats say that planes are the safest way to travel bases on the pure volume they move compared to ships , you might have one in 10000 ships sink , but you have 1 in 1000000 planes crash
>>61848703
nice pic
>>61848703
>>61848713
nah i disagree as not all passengers on the ship die so no i dont believe that
>>61848720
let me guess sydney australia, as they are the ones that have those 2 ships.
>>61848715
ty
>>61848729
it depends , not all people die when a plane crashes if the pilot is worth a damn , sometimes nobody dies (see that river landing or many crash landings on runways) , if a ship SUDDENLY sinks , most people die , same as a sudden crash w/ a plane
Man, why do you do this?
How can I help you?
Been doing pipework on the Tacanuya for the last month. Sea trials monday, wish her luck
It's blatantly obvious that OP is just replying to all his own posts
>>61848739
yep, they need to somehow make more port space too because the bigger ships can't get past the harbor bridge
>>61848781
Il prob be on the carrier when it arrives at Portsmouth too. Doing clearance forms today.
>>61848796
what ever you believe i have only made a couple.
