Can you recommend me a good monitor for programming? What do you use? At the minute, and over the last few years I've used a single cheapo Dell, but want to set up a dual display so there's less window confusion.
Recommend for me too!
Vertical second monitor for programming only.
What /g/ programmers use for their daily basis..?

Perfect for diagrams/schematics which require 1:1 measurements in the physical world.
I'd imagine it would be nice for maps too.

you can make do with a single monitor in either landscape or portrait orientation for programming there is no need for any more aside from convenience.
I've tried a triple monitor setup in various configurations before, in the end I settled with 2 monitors. Found that at most I'd use 2 monitors and the third display rarely gets used.
for multi monitor I find 1 in landscape mode and the other in portrait mode to be optimal for a wide variety of applications if using 16:9.
