Truly an stupid question.

Modern mobos uses UEFI and have no removable chips, but even if they do, a sd card and reader would be a more expensive and useless since you would need to load the drivers on the BIOS to load your BIOS

i have a lg e975 phone. It runs android 4.4.2, Update thingy says it's the most recent version
systemui keeps crashing after lock screen. loses the system background, will barely react to input (delayed or ignored input, windows disappearing, apps hanging up etc.) After i restart the phone it's back to normal until i lock the screen and open it again.
I want to see if i can fix it with something simple, dont want to go for a system reset immediately
What are the basic steps to fix issues like that? I handle w7/w10 systems at work but have no idea bout android stuff

I want to make my server control panels for deluge and more accessible only through some secure pipe, just like vpn, but the thing is, that vpn takes some time to start up and if I just quickly want to access it, then it would take ages - would be even faster to remote desktop into it - is a proxy with auth + nginx for the proxy_pass to the local sources the only way?

>UHD-1, or ultra-high-definition television (UHDTV), is the 4K standard for television and computer monitors. UHD-1 is also called 2160p[4][5] as it has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 (16:9, or approximately a 1.78:1 aspect ratio), which is twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of 1080p, or three times the horizontal and vertical resolution of 720p.[4] UHD-1 is used in consumer television and other media, e.g. video games.

surely respectable digits have spoken the truth.

Agreed, arch install is only a few terminal commands. If you take the time to read the documentation it shouldn't be an issue.

The install itself is very straightforward from terminal shell and installing the bootloader just takes reading some documentation to actually understand which is most suitable for you (MBR, UEFI, etc..)

Your argument is flawed.

Also, anonymity is a powerful tool. ensuring secure, anonymous communications is much more powerful than distributing illegal pornographic material and you need to stop thinking to narrow-mindedly, sheep.

You're encrypting child porn, and your datastore will have encrypted child porn on it, which the government has hashes of and can identify you with.

gpg encryption.Boom done no need to mark your account as a potiential child abuse media downlaoder to your isp.

>>61840117
You should read the recent c ourt cases. You can be identified just by having a datastore, which can be hashed out and linked back to you

Check the current court case that just started this month from a 2014 arrest.

>>
>>61840160
>no, im not.
You dont even know the basics of freenet yet your'e spout out FREEEEDDUUUMMMBBBB.
A datastore is your potion of the freenet cache store locally on your system.Other users will link a hash and then download from you if you have any portion of it.
This means you will have child porn in your data cache, given pedophiles are 80% of the datastore use freenet.
Unless you have 10 friends all linked via darknet, you're going to be using opennet, in which you will be found out, in just a matter of time
>>

>>61840160
>im actually not familiar with freenet at all, im just advocating the usefulness of anonymous encrypted communication channels.
Im actually not familiar with freenet at all, im just advocating the necessity of anonymous encrypted communication channels to ensure the people's ability to securely communicate and exhcange messages with each other should an abusive government take control. the reasoning behind our right to bear arms is already effectively nullified due to drones being able to shoot us with missiles from miles up in the sky. Our only effective weapon left for fighting back against oppresive regimes to be able to communicate securely and anonymously, which is indeed a powerful weapon we could utilize should the need arise

I have a PC with a sandybridge CPU, and another with a Haswell CPU. I'm trying to build a gentoo OS that will run on both. Its my understanding that the 'march' flag sole purpose is to specify the instruction sets a CPU can use. Is it then safe to go with the lowest common denominator and set 'march=sandybridge'? Something more general (like i686)? Or is the performance gain between the difference of those two archs significant enough to warrant two different operating systems with their respective march arguments?
>>
>>61840273
You have to run a datastore to use freenet. Its programmed in to the basics. When you connect to the freenet network, you will have child porn stored in hashes and encrypted data on your hard drive you use.
READ THE BASIC OF HOW FREENET WORKS BEFORE YOU POST AGAIN

>>61840291
I dont want people to think freenet is a secure place to take up "secure" communication. It isnt and you're promoting it as if it was some god send of anonymous communication. When in reality it is a risk factor. There are far better alternatives to secure communication then freenet. The second you connect your datastore will be filled with child porn and if you are connected to a LEA node they have the hashes documented for child abuse media and can start monitoring you

I have an issue with my laptop.
I have to apply pressure when inserting the AC to charge it as it's loose.

I can't really answer your question but I can say that I normally use firefox to read pdf's which works fine, but then I tried to open a large pdf and it shit itself, whereas a dedicated pdf reader handled it like a breeze.

So, I would imagine anything should be able to handle reading pdf's, provided the program is designed for that

I can be both the cable and the internal ports fault. If you have a different charger for it, (maybe someone you know has the same charger) i would try that. Maybe order another charger and see if that works because thats going to be the easiest fix, if it doesn't work you're going to need a new charging port on your laptop, and those arent fun to replace unless you're good at soldering

Dont use OC Software, overclock it in your BIOS, i have the same CPU and im running at a 4.3GHz constant OC. Just lookup some tutorials on youtube for how to overclock devils canyon CPUs.

Make sure you have a good cpu cooler and watch your thermals to make sure the CPU isnt getting to hot. you should try to keep it below 80c at full load.

You wont break your cpu if you take your time, if your pc just blackscreens on boot, (and if it blackscreens before you can get into BIOS) just reset your CMOS

CPU's can take pretty silly voltages without any real issue, and temps aren't a concern unless you're dumb enough to disable overtemp protection in your BIOS. Like anon said, don't use software, just do it through your BIOS. Personally I'd just Google the max safe voltage of your chip, and start probably 0.1 below that and see how high you can get the core clock before it shits the bed and blue screens. Once you're there you can back it off 100Mhz, then stress test and check for crashes and WHEA errors. If you continue to get crashes either increase the voltage more or decrease your core clock some more.

Some chips will hit a wall at a certain core clock and need massive voltages to be stable above that, once you're there it's pretty much not worth going any higher. This is all assuming of course you got lucky with your TIM and have a chip that doesn't run at 100C even with a mild OC.

So I have this 16x2 lcd display for my raspberry pi (which only uses 4 pins) and I can download examples that print text and shit. All well and good.

I'm having significant difficulties getting it to display the degree symbol (just to test how displaying temperatures will look). A few hours ago I asked >>61836700 , when trying to install it through dpkg -i it gave me an error about missing dependency libgcrypt20 (>=1.7.0), then I tried apt-get install libgcrypt20 and only the version 1.6.1 could be installed for my system (14.04) so the above dpkg command kept giving me the same error.

So I said fug it and compiled it from source using the provided guide on the aircrack website, so far it seems to be working well.

But I would like to know how could I have had properly fixed the above problem? If the required package or dependency version wasn't available on the repos which I think are these https://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/libgcrypt20 then what could I have done? My guess is trying more repositories but im at lost regarding what to try, or how to even search if the package I was looking for could be there. Where else could I have gotten that missing dependency? I thought having freedumbs meant stuff like this, newer programs not working on older platforms wouldn't happen.

Also I read that when installing packages through 'make install' apt is unaware of them so if I wanted to remove it through apt it wouldn't work, how can I uninstall it now?
>>
>>61844352
Sudo apt-get install -f will fetch any missing dependencies. But I like how you tried to fix it yourself by compiling the program yourself other than just asking for help.

Can I just "learn Python"? Like could I go through a book or two and know everything there is to know about it? Or would I have to decide on a target and learn everything with that in mind?

I don't know any programming language but have college experience with some. I fell for the "hobby into career" thing and have had an unsuccessful career trying to find animation work (I'm not great and the field is packed). I am trying to figure out what it would take to switch to a technical role (technical director, technical animator, technical artist). I already rig but never use any scripting which is what they all want.

It would be for Maya in this case, but Python is used everywhere else too, so maybe I wouldn't feel so stuck in this industry.

Nope, Magnets do fuck all to a motherboard and most electronics. if it's powerful enough than it will fuck your harddrive, but it would have to be a really strong magnetic screwdriver and it would need to come Really close to your harddrive. You're 100% fine using a magnetic screwdriver to install motherboard screws

>apt-get install -f
Thanks, forgot to mention that I also tried that exact comman without luck, I read that command would fix it but didn't help. It just kept saying the same about "fixing dependencies" or something like that and that the package aircrack-ng would be removed (I don't think it even installed ?). The exact order was dpkg -i aircrack then apt-get install -f. But yeah no luck.

I was playing with it a moment ago and messed around installing what seemed to be packages meant for Debian in .deb format. Went here to grab https://packages.debian.org/en/stretch/libgcrypt20 and it gave me an error for missing libgpg-error0 so I went to https://packages.debian.org/en/stretch/libgpg-error0 and grabbed that. Installed libgpg-error0 through dpkg, then libgcrypt20, and finally the aircrack package I was originally tried to install. Installed without errors. Im sure something may have broken because I had already installed it through 'make install', no biggie since it's on a VM and I can rollback to a previous snapshot. Still seems to work fine though, just want to learn a bit while im at it.

Is this an ok way of doing this? I mean going to Debian for the packages that apt can't find on the Ubuntu repos? Or what 'nightly' or whatever repos does Ubuntu have?

Are there any drawback from using XMP?
Also does "Ready for AMD Ryzen" memory actually better for Ryzen system?
>>
>>61844800
OC means "Above the official JDEC specification".
DDR4 is only officially rated to run at up to 2666MHz. Anything above that is "overclocked", as it's running outside of specification.
When a manufacturer sells a kit at higher clocks, they are effectively selling the assurance that the memory can overclock to the speeds that they specify.

>>61844809
XMP is simply a set of preset overclocked profiles that the manufacturer has tested the module to run at.

you can use apt pinning for specific package, to get newer version if the stable branch is too old.

So i just restarted my phone ater removing google play services and anything with the word android.google.gsm in it, and now it's stuck booting up. It's ben booting for around 5min and it makes a weird ticking mechanical sound. Should i re-flash gapps or should i restore boot partition?
I'm using a ZTE Axon 7 on Lineage OS with 7.1.2
>>
>>61846092
The first boot after a flash csn take up to 15 min. If it doesn't work after that reflash
You're shit out of luck on mechanical, I have no idea what's Makin that noise. There should be no mechanical parts to speak of afaik
>>
>>61846042
Yes, ram is really flexible on this aspect, you can also try to lower the timings while keeping the same frequency (like overcloking but not exactly)

>>61846046
Depends on what field you're working but as a baseline you should be able to work with sockets.
>>
>>61839873
it can guess based on the rate at which you download it, as well as when you download other videos
there's no /technical/ difference between downloading and streaming, but there are ... "meta" differences

to explain, lets say one user downloads from your server a 10 minute video over the course of 8 minutes, then around 2 minutes after, begins another video download
while another user downloads a 10 minute video in 2 minutes, then immediately starts downloading another video
both are downloading the video using the same technical methods, but the times indicate that the first user is watching the video as it's downloading (streaming), while the second user is not

Give python a try, if you succeed, escalate to a lower level language like C or C++, stay away form the botnet(C# and anything .NET). If you want do web development JavaScript and PHP is a good start too.

Alternative you can also try Java, is an old language with a very common syntax and tons of resources, there's no much use for it outside of enterprise development but it excels at it.

I left my computer on running an image scaling program for 12 hours and I returned to see a BIOS screen (I guess, black with white console text) saying "Insert boot media and press any key" or something to that effect. It started up fine after turning off and on again. The program had shut down ungracefully at around 60% completion, as evident by a half-finished image.

Any way that I can find out what caused this or to prevent it happening again? Win7, i5-6600, GTX 1050.

Hi guys,
looking for some help, so dunno if this is right place.

I rooted my phone a while ago, and it seems to have done it wrong. I can live with that, but now Netflix and Amazon video wont load no matter what I do..

worst thing I can't Un-root my phone because it looks like it isn't rooted at all.. so it's a bit crazy.

I tried downloading the apk files to install the apps directly, but they wont install.

I've run out of ideas, and cant think of anything.

anyone got any ideas how to get both those programs back on my phone?
